Alongside its new products, McAfee is also using an upgraded malware scanning engine. While McAfee’s 2013 products were using the engine to check for zero-day threats, keyloggers, and Trojans, the 2014 product line now has a faster scanning speed it reduces the size of threat signature files and now uses CPU more efficiently.

Earlier this year, McAfee released two other products dedicated to protecting customers’ privacy and security – McAfee Mobile Security, which allows consumers to build user profiles, so only certain users can access restricted apps. It also launched LiveSafe, a cross-device product that allowed users to use face and voice-recognition technology to retrieve sensitive data from a secure location called the “Personal Locker.” LiveSafe also helps users manage online usernames and passwords, and it protects users’ privacy on their smartphones and tablets. The product also provides customer support.

Introductory pricing for Anti-Virus Plus starts at $34.99, while Internet Security is $55.99. McAfee Total Protection is $62.99, though all of these prices could change.
