Image Space Incorporated (ISI) let the barn doors open today and released a few new previews of upcoming updates/content for rFactor 2.  The screenshots include the first images of the highly anticipated Nissan GT-R GT500 from the Super GT series, an updated 1966 Brabham-Repco BT20 and a couple images showing off lighting improvements.

First the Nissan.  Just like seemingly all GT-R race cars, this GT-R is a bit of an oddity.  The Super GT car features a V8 engine instead of the twin-turbo V6 in the road-going car and RWD instead of the road-going’s 4WD.  Gotta love regulations…

Regardless, the car looks great (especially in Motul livery).  No set release date yet, only the “soon” label.  With that said, ISI is pretty good at actually getting things out “soon” so hopefully it won’t be long.

Another preview we got today was of the Babram-Repco BT20.  While the car has been in the sim for awhile, it hasn’t seen an update since April 2013.  That will change in the next few days because the car is receiving a complete physics overall.  The car will now feature rFactor 2′s latest version of chassis flex and wet weather tires.  Good stuff.  Here’s a few pretty screenshots of the car doing its thing.

Last, but certainly not least, ISI has released a couple screenshots showing off new updates coming to the transition lighting.  rFactor 2 has really been the only game in town when it comes to day to night transitions for awhile, and they are looking to stay towards the pointy end of the field with this update (Project CARS coming quick).  Hard to draw many conclusions from two screenshots but they both look good to me!
