Preview ISRTV Visits AdrenalinMotorsport For A Lap Of The Nordschleife! On Friday the 15th of July, I will visit the German AdrenalinMotorsport Racing Team and be taken on a racing lap of  the Nordschleife endurance layout by VLN driver Robert van Husen!

I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to join the German VLN BMW racing team AdenalinMotorsport and their driver Robert van Husen at the Nurburgring this coming weekend. Robert and his co-drivers, Americans Jonathan Miller and Lance Bergstein, will be competing in the German VLN Endurance race on Saturday, the 16th of July. The race will be held on the combined Nurburgring GP and Nordschleife layouts to create probably one of the most awesome endurance circuits in the world!

Robert has graciously organised for me to accompany him on a racing lap of the entire endurance layout, which will be recorded on two separate cockpit mounted cameras. To say I am very excited is an understatement! The car I will be hitching a ride in is Robert’s race prepared VLN BMW M235i!

One of the main sponsors for the VLN series is the extremely popular Gran Turismo franchise from Polyphony, Kazunori Yamauchi is, himself a keen devotee of the Nordschliefe circuit and has driven there many times in the past.

As a preview of what we can expect this Friday, here is a short trailer I created of a previous passenger’s ride! Keep an eye out for the complete lap of both circuits with full telemetry and my article coming soon to InsideSimRacing.tv!

A little History On The Car Classes Of The German VLN Racing Series*

A variety of cars compete at the same time during each race. In the 2009 season, there were 30 classes of cars in four divisions.

The Series Cars division is intended to allow relatively low cost racing with near-series cars. It consists of six gasoline classes differentiated by engine displacement V1 to V6 and a diesel class VD.

The Specials division consists of pure race cars that may compete in other race series. It consists of the classes SP1 to SP8 differentiated by engine displacement with an optional suffix T for turbo charged engines, the SP9 class for FIA GT3 cars, the SP10 class for SRO GT4 cars, the special E1-XP 2009 class and the D1T to D4T classes differentiated by engine displacement for diesel cars.

Current VLN Cup Classes:

CUP1 – Opel Astra Opc Cup

CUP2 – Porsche 991 GT3 Cup

CUP3 – Porsche Cayman GT4

CUP4 – Toyota GT86

CUP5 – BMW M235i Racing Cup
