Thanks to the ever evolving modding community in Assetto Corsa, we are being treated with many more cars in the works beyond what Kunos is bringing us! We have three cool mods that we want to get you up to date on, showing what you’ll be able to race in the near future.
First up, we have a Formula 3 race car. No, it’s not the one that Mak Corp just released yesterday either. This one is by Radiator Springs Racing, which is known for releasing the first third party car for NetKar Pro. They have released new in-game screenshots of the open wheel car, showing off the interior and exterior. Multiple years appear to be simulated, and the steering wheels in the two shots look amazing! I’m looking forward to giving this car a spin, and seeing how it compares to the other open wheelers we have available.
Next up, we have another preview coming from the IER Modding Group. This time, it is for the the Mazda LMP2 race car, being made for the United SportsCar Championship Mod. The USCC mod will feature some of the most diverse car lists in a mod for Assetto Corsa yet. IER is looking to replicate the full inaugural season of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. The mod will feature other cars, such as the Deltawing, the Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype, and also will repurpose the C7.R GT race car that Kunos will release later this year.
Last, but certainly not least, we have in-game shots of the Mazda 787B, being brought to Assetto Corsa by P. Sander. This iconic Group C racer, known for its screaming engine note from a 4-rotor powerplant. The 787B is a cult favorite, despite it having struggles where it raced. However, it also won the 1991 24H of Le Mans, making Mazda the only Japanese manufacturer to win at the legendary race.
If you’re looking for a mod you can try out today, United Racing Design has released the beta of their EGT5 mod for Assetto Corsa. This is a port of the rFactor 2 version by SandroX and alless, and features all the cars. This mod is a payware one, retailing for €9.80. Since this is in a beta, it will also see an update in 1-2 weeks. To check out the mod for yourself, you can go to United Racing Design’s official site. You can also take a look at my impressions of the rFactor 2 version here.
There is a lot of content being made for Assetto Corsa, way more than I can cover in this post!
