This post is in response to WordPress‘ Daily Prompt The The Guilt that Haunts Me

Well, not really haunts. =) What’s WordPress Daily Prompt? The Daily Prompt is meant to give a blogger an idea on what to write. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to answer the prompt. Any idea that comes to your mind when you read the title of the prompt will do. If you want to try it, visit WordPress’ Daily Prompt.

Coffee

Lately, I’ve been drinking more than the usual one cup of coffee. It all started when I was in the Philippines for vacation. There were several factors (I want to blame). Maybe it was the rainy weather, the enticing coffee TV commercials, the really creamy coffee I was drinking, and the rest of the unimportant made up factors I can think of. I just want to have some coffee. =) Sad to say, on average,  caffeine wears off in 10-12 hours and I badly need more sleep to fulfill my day duties. There goes the guilt for every 3rd, 4th, 5th cup of coffee lately. I’m going back to the 1-2 cups (or no coffee if possible) because the longer one uses caffeine, the more the body builds a tolerance to it.

According to WebMD coffee containing caffeine can cause insomnia, nervousness and restlessness, stomach upset, nausea and vomiting, increased heart and breathing rate, and other side effects. Consuming large amounts of coffee might also cause headache, anxiety, agitation, ringing in the ears, and irregular heartbeats.

Rain

Last month, Jeddah experienced more than a day of rain. This week, there’s another rain shower expected to fall. I want some rain to fall, but a trace of guilt comes knowing that rain in Jeddah spells flood. =)
