John Lelwica is one of the Sauk Rapids-Rice High School Storm Staff of the Month for February. Mr. Lelwica has been a science teacher for 32 years, and 21 of those have been at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. He teaches tenth-grade biology, eleventh- and twelfth-grade anatomy and physiology and a course called “Minnesota Birds” to tenth- through twelfth-grades.

Mr. Lelwica says his favorite part of working at the high school is connecting with students. He says, “We have so many amazing young people. They energize and impress me daily.” He adds that he is fortunate to work with so many great staff and administrators here. “I really appreciate being a part of the team at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School.”

Mr. Lelwica and his wife, Renee, have four kids and a Dachshund named Moxie. He and his wife own a store that sells repurposed items called Salvage Sisters, where he makes barn wood furniture during the weekends and over the summer.
