Overview
The ideal candidate for our Director, Inside Sales role will be a new business superstar who has successfully driven both lead-gen and full cycle inside sales programs for a complex software offering. The primary role of this game changing position will be to develop both the strategic mission and tactical objectives for a focused inside effort aimed at exploding new business opportunities in accordance with upcoming releases of fresh product offerings. The incumbent will also assemble and develop a stellar team of inside sales professionals who can exploit additional opportunities for upgrading existing clients to more robust offerings.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
In conjunction with executive management and leaders of field sales and marketing teams, architect a comprehensive Inside Sales program that will support full cycle sales of mid-level, SMB offerings and Enterprise level, field sales efforts.
Analyze existing product mix, along with proposed roadmap and product release schedules to design a full cycle inside sales program from the ground up.
Develop deep understanding of Alteryx technologies, including market trends and competing products.
With the help of our marketing teams, craft our technology value proposition and corporate messaging into succinct and consumable scripting for more repeatable sales processes.
Develop fresh, compelling and elegant sales presentations for Clients and Prospects that focus on the business value of our products and services.
Understand the current spectrum of customers and targeted user personas and how to adequately move them through a funnel that supports their maturity curve.
Work with marketing to leverage inbound leads, existing customer relationships and existing business contacts to generate constant activity and develop a new business pipeline that equates to approximately 3X the annualized quota / gross margin revenue budget.
Design and manage new metrics, analytics and team member KPIs that keep the Inside Sales team on track and focused on results and revenue.
Facilitate sales efforts; maintain customer and lead records on our corporate database and contact management system and prepare sales tracking reports as required.
Develop formal process to inform existing customers of new product and service offerings. Sell product upgrades, training, and service opportunities to current customers
Qualifications:
Proven and verifiable track record of designing and growing a successful sales program with a complex software offering from the ground up.
Track record of building and developing focused and disciplined sales teams that exceed expectations and blow quotas out of the water.
Professional, polished and credible communication skills an absolute must (oral, written, presentations)
Must be a driven sales leader capable of blending a true sales discipline with the nuances of complex software sales to drive peak team performance.
Experienced technology evangelist with ability to thrive and evolve programs in an esoteric, niche market and quickly become a credible market authority.
History of developing ongoing sales trainings and sales scripts to provide a consistent, competitive edge to your sales team.
Effective working with all levels of business and technology stakeholders internally and externally, including the ‘C’ level within large organizations.
Bachelor’s degree in business, sales or marketing or equivalent training in business or sales management, with a minimum of five years of experience in solution sales and software account management.
Must be a polished professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
PC and internet skills required, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience with modern CRM (Salesforce.com) and marketing automation systems (Marketo, Eloqua), highly preferred.
