**Job Description:**

**JOB SUMMARY**

Reporting into the Director, HRConnect Operations and Process Team and partnering closely with Iron Mountain’s senior leadership and Human Resource teams, the North American Payroll Manager will play a visible and important role as a trusted payroll advisor for our North American employees. The North American Payroll Manager is responsible for managing the payroll function in each country and the efforts of the Payroll Representatives in the processing of all necessary data and information to pay employees.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**

* Manage, mentor, and coach the Payroll Operations team performance through motivation, monitoring and performance standards and metrics.

* Accountable for ensuring the payroll process is followed to accurately pay employees. This information includes: employee changes, statutory deductions, benefits administration, etc.

* Play the vital role of payroll compliance officer while ensuring the company is compliant with Federal, State and Provincial legislative requirements and changes.

* Be a key member of the HRConnect Shared Services Team to ensure the broader shared services team is knowledgeable of the pay process and can respond to tier 1 and tier 2 pay related issues..

* Collaborate with Total Rewards COE for the administration of group benefit plans, sick and vacation policies and compensation changes.

* Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual business processes such as reporting, auditing, tax season, merit increases, and performance- based bonus pay outs.

* Manage and oversee the vacation and sick reporting processes for employees.

* Establish and consistently meet/exceed Shared Service metrics and standards.

* Monitor the workflow in the department to ensure that all deadlines are met.

* Other duties as required.

**Job Requirements:**

* Bilingual skills (French and English) are an asset but not required.
* BA with minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in multi country Payroll with 3 years at a manager level
* Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation preferred
* Proven experience and compliance focused on tax requirements at a Federal, State and Provincial level for a large portfolio of employees (8500 US and 1200 CAN)
* Ability to lead, mentor and coach staff
* Experience working in a shared service environment preferred
* Superior communication skills (verbal & written)
* Excellent organizational and analytical skills, detail-oriented
* Ability to interact with a variety of people inside and outside the organization
* Excellent knowledge of Windows environment
* Proven experience with Case Management Applications
* Experience with Workday HCM preferred
* Experience with ADP payroll systems (Enterprise v4 US and PCPW CAN)
