**Responsibilities:**

The Accounting Manager, Real Estate Operations is a key member of Iron Mountain’s Global Real Estate Operations team, with responsibilities including:

* Process day-to-day lease and real estate related accounting transactions related to IRM’s ~50 million square foot portfolio in North America

* Manage key components of the monthly accounting close in line with current (evolving) GAAP and SOX requirements.

* Work closely with other functions within Iron Mountain’s Global Real Estate and Corporate Accounting teams to determine appropriate accounting treatments relating to capital leases, sales, purchases, tenant improvements, subleases, Real Estate facility GL coding and other real estate related transactions.

* Ensure that the real estate accounting transactions and schedules are complete, accurate and delivered timely for final review. This will include deferred rent schedules/reconciliations, property tax accrual/prepaid schedules, prepaid rent reconciliations, various other accruals, and other support necessary to account for various real estate transactions.

* Partner with members of the Real Estate Strategy team and with the North America business units to support budgeting, variance analysis and forecasting processes as well as ad hoc reporting for the Global Real Estate team and other key business stakeholders.

* Provide input to financial analysis to influence decisions and key initiatives.

* Participate in important programs and initiatives across the Global Real Estate organization (e.g., system implementations, managing capital spend programs, supporting portfolio optimization strategies, process re-engineering, etc.).

* Build and maintain processes and relationships with key Real Estate vendor partners to ensure proper coordination across all activities.

**Qualifications:**

* Bachelor’s degree in business, finance/accounting, or other related area is required. Graduate degree in a related field ispreferred.

* Requires 4+ years of broad business experience with an emphasis on understanding GAAP accounting or real estate finance, specifically straight-line (normalized rent) accounting methods and sublease accounting. Public Accounting experience preferred.

* Experience with enterprise-wide applications and accounting systems (such as Oracle and Hyperion) are a definite plus.

* Ability to analyze results with an eye to completeness is critical.

* The ideal candidate will possess the ability to analyze complicated accounting issues, assess completeness and actively strategize to resolve such problems.

* Strong data management skills, the ability to follow and influence business processes effectively and works well among peers.

* All candidates must have good attention to detail, solid organization skills, the ability to teamwork and strong communication skills (both written and oral).

* Career progression should indicate positions of increasing scope and responsibility.

* Travel requirement is minimal.
