Han Chin Pet Soo is a Hakka Tin Mining Museum located at Ipoh’s popular Heritage Trail at Old Town.

It was set up by Commander Ian Anderson RN (Rtd) the managing director of IpohWorld, an education-based, not-for-profit organisation to promote awareness and appreciation of Perak’s unique, diverse and rich heritage with particular focus on Ipoh and the Kinta Valley.

The museum was originally the home of the Hakka Tin Miners Club. Founded in 1893 the building was rebuilt in 1929 and measures approximately 5000 square feet over three floors.

The club was a members’ only club and much of the décor is authentic since when it started. On display are artifacts, collectibles, ephemeras and also photographs from the 19th and 20th century.

Anderson when contacted said he could not be happier for the Museum to be given the award.
