NEW UK VIDEO GAMES PUBLISHER, PLAYSTACK, EXPANDS ITS PORTFOLIO BY SIGNING MOBILE DEVELOPER ‘FOXGLOVE STUDIOS’

The rapidly growing publisher also brings in new hires from Space Ape Games and NBC Universal

New UK video game publisher, PlayStack, is pleased to announce their latest publishing deal with ‘Foxglove Studios’, who today revealed their new game Snipers vs Thieves. This real-time multiplayer heist game goes into Google Play Early Access today. This is the second title that PlayStack have added to their growing portfolio after the company’s launch less than three months ago.

Based in Sweden, Foxglove Studios is made up of 15 video game industry veterans with a wealth of experience in AAA console, PC and mobile development brought over from previous roles at companies such as Crytek, Rovio and King. PlayStack will be responsible for launching their new mobile title, Snipers vs Thieves. In the game, players go head to head in real time. They can choose to rule the streets solo or start a cartel and play with friends. Players can take the high ground as a deadly sniper or dodge enemy fire as a master thief. Both roles have a huge arsenal of gear and gadgets offering variety and depth of play.

Snipers vs Thieves will incorporate the latest Google Play Services such as video recording and Apple features including  iOS 10 messaging support.

The PlayStack team has also grown to assist with their rapidly growing portfolio. A trio of highly talented and experienced new hires  join the team to bolster the already impressive roster of PlayStack staff.

Rupinder Khatkar, who joins Playstack as a Data Analyst, brings with her a wealth of experience in analysing and monitoring data garnered from her time at NBC Universal, Universal Pictures International Entertainment and Jagex.

Will Newell joins as Product Marketing Manager, bringing expertise in user acquisition, ad creative and user behaviour, from his previous roles at Space Ape Games, Natural Motion and Edge Case Games.

Finally, Brera Razzaq joins as Project Manager, bringing over ten years of games publishing experience from former roles as Senior Distribution Manager and  Project Manager at EA Mobile and Marmalade. She plays a pivotal role building critical relationships with developers and platform holders alike.

“As soon as we played Snipers vs Thieves we wanted to be the publishing partner,” said Harvey Elliott, CEO and Founder of PlayStack. “The team has spent countless hours playing the game and we’re looking forward to working with Foxglove Studios to give their game the launch it deserves. To ensure we deliver the best results for our developers we have expanded the team with those we consider to be experts in their field. Their combined experience means we can bolster our efforts in a number of areas and continue to pursue even more partnerships.”

Jan Lechner, Product Lead at Foxglove Studios said: “This is an exciting time for the team. The launch of Sniper vs Thieves is just around the corner and after 2 years in development we’re looking forward to seeing how people react to our game and how PlayStack can elevate us in this extremely competitive market.”

PlayStack has continued to see a high volume of interest from additional studios and will be announcing even more games to their roster later this year. The publisher looks to offer developers support from concept through to launch, offering various levels of funding through subsidiaries PlayFund and PlayStack Capital, initiatives that go beyond SEIS or EIS funding and aim to provide developers with the means to fully develop and market their games without having to constantly raise funds themselves or work behind a series of contracts and red tape. The team also offer a wealth of expertise in marketing, monetisation and community management and this offering has proven attractive to developers.
