KING AND THE LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CREATE SWEET MUSIC FOR THE LAUNCH OF CANDY CRUSH SODA SAGA
Sixty-Five LSO Musicians Record Soundtrack at Legendary Abbey Road Studios
King Digital Entertainment plc (NYSE: KING), a leading interactive entertainment company for the mobile world, today announced its collaboration with the world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra on the soundtrack for the recent Facebook launch, and upcoming mobile launch of Candy Crush Soda Saga. In preparation, sixty-five LSO musicians assembled at the famed Abbey Road Studio in London to create the enchanting score for the next iteration of King’s global hit game Candy Crush Saga.
Gareth Davies, the LSO’s Principal Flute said: “It was great fun recording the music for Candy Crush Soda Saga. I played the original and I’m delighted that the London Symphony Orchestra has been able to be part of this new game. Having a soundtrack recorded by a group of live musicians will really take Candy Crush Soda Saga to the next level.”
King’s composer and arranger, Johan Holmström added, “The music we recorded at Abbey Road Studios elevates the players’ experience of Candy Crush Soda Saga, and really brings the game to life. At King, we put a lot of care and craft into every aspect of our games, and the music is a very important feature. Working with one of the best symphony orchestras in the world to record for the game adds a really organic sound. We hope that as players release the soda, and match those candies, that they thoroughly enjoy hearing the music and sounds recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra.”
Candy Crush Soda Saga, the sister title to the world famous Candy Crush Saga, recently launched on Facebook and will soon be available on mobile devices. Candy Crush Soda Saga offers new features and content to give an engaging and fun gaming experience to players.
