Noosa Heads, Queensland, based Jo Brown is the designer behind Surfher.

“Surfher was born with passion for the ocean and water sports. As Queenslanders we are blessed with endless beaches, fantastic waves and a rich marine ecosystem. Our deep connection to the ocean lies at the heart of the Surfher brand – high quality surf wear products for the female ocean adventurer,” explained Jo.

Specifically, a range of functional products that provide support and structure whilst looking good. That is “gear that grips” as their motto explains, and is not going to fall off with the first duck dive surfing or that first kite surf railey. For those who are passionate about water sport, gear failure is not an option.

Surfher also acknowledges that not every woman has the perfect bikini body nor do they want to wear what every teenage girl is wearing. Surfher has developed a product range that encompasses a versatile range of products including shorts with an inbuilt bikini bottom and singlets designed for the ocean, yet are being used also for running, gym, triathlon and other cross training. This a function of the quality and structured layering of fabric in Surfher garments.

“Surfher aims to fulfil a niche market and provide the highest quality Australian-made garments for water sports where neither functionality nor looks are compromised. Surfher ambassadors from wakeboarding, kite boarding and surfing are reporting great things from our 2015 releases. 2016 brings some slight innovations and improvements to last year’s range and introduces our first print range. We are excited to release these prints that are uniquely Surfher,” continued Jo.

Surfher is 100% designed, tested, developed and manufactured in Queensland, Australia, using only the highest quality fabric and accessories.  Furthermore from Summer 2016 Surfher lycra products will be made from 100% recycled lycra fabric with sustainability in mind.

“Surfher is a brand local to the Sunshine Coast and are extremely proud to be a part of the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival. As a new and evolving brand we are meeting our challenges head on and feel this is a great chance for us to increase our exposure not only to our potential market base but the industry as a whole. A chance to network, learn and draw inspiration from others on their own fashion journeys.”
