Artist Lecture & Book Signing: Elinor Carucci

Please join PPAC for an engaging lecture and book signing by the photographer Elinor Carucci. Carucci will discuss her career and work as a fine artist and editorial photographer as well as her most recent monograph Mother. Mother shows nine years of her intensely intimate photographs of her motherhood/childhood project with her children. A book signing will proceed the lecture, copies of Mother will be sold at the event. Please RSVP to reserve a seat.

Elinor Carucci was born in Jerusalem, Israel, and moved to New York in 1995. Her work has been included in an impressive amount of solo and group exhibitions worldwide. Her solo exhibitions include Edwynn Houk gallery Fifty One Fine Art Gallery, James Hyman and Gagosian Gallery, London among others. Group exhibitions include the Museum of Modern Art of New York and the Photographers’ Gallery, London.

Elinor’s work is included in the collections of MOMA New York, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, Houston Museum of Fine Art amoung others and her work appeared in the New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Details, New York Magazine, W, Aperture, ARTNews and many more.

Her awards include the International Center of Photography Infinity Award for Young Photographer, a Guggenheim Fellowship and NYFA. She has published 3 monographs Closer, Chronicle Books and Diary of a Dancer, SteidlMack, and her newest release Mother, Prestel. A solo show of the work will open at Edwynn Houk Gallery in New York in March of 2014.
