We knew the day would come when we'd have to say goodbye to our current James Bond, Daniel Craig. And sadly, it looks like that day has arrived.

According to Birth.Death.Movies, Tom Hiddleston (Thor, The Avengers) is in “advanced talks” to replace Craig in the role of 007.

More from Gizmodo:

This isn’t too much of a surprise: Bond is a role that Hiddleston's talked about playing, and bookies have already been betting on him to become Bond. Along with what feels like every British actor in existence.

Hiddleston has already established some great performances in productions such as The Night Manager and High-Rise, and it’d be quite a change to see him after Daniel Craig. He’s also a fairly familiar face as a villain in a more recent giant franchise, so a transition to playing an action hero would definitely be interesting.

To be clear, we love Tom Hiddleston, and think he's a handsome, talented actor.

But Daniel Craig...We hate to see you go, but we love to watch you leave!
