Every woman wants to be beautiful, but using beauty products can break your bank and unnecessarily expose you to a glut of chemicals. Before you go to the store and spend loads of money on ‘the next big thing’, try some of these natural beauty recipes which come straight from God’s country for a fraction of the price. 1.) Reduce the size of pores with soy milk

Use a cotton ball to apply soy milk directly onto your face after it has been washed as a toner. Leave it on overnight and wash off the milk in the morning.

2.) Remove Dandruff with Coconut Oil and Citrus Fruits

Courtesy of The Mother Huddle - Mix 4 tablespoons coconut oil, 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 tablespoon grapefruit juice. Massage the mixture onto your dry scalp and let it sit for 20 minutes and then rise with a shower.

3.) Get rid of eye puffiness with cucumber and green tea

Mix one tea bag of green tea with 1/2 of a grated cucumber. Put the mixture into a gauze (or a napkin or paper towel) and place under your eyes for 30 to 60 minutes. Cucumber is anti-inflammatory and contains antioxidants and vitamin which protect and firm collagen. Green tea is also anti-inflammatory and contains very powerful antioxidants, which aid the cucumbers. Green Tea also has vitamin K, which helps restore the skin back to normal.

4.) Reduce Cellulite with Coconut Oil

Dry brush coconut oil onto the affected areas for 5 minutes at least twice per week. The motion and abrasion of the brush will help your blood flow and remove toxins while the coconut oil firms your skin.

5.) Replace Deodorant with Baking Soda

You can replace deodorants filled with chemicals with baking soda mixed with either a few drops of water or a dash of cornstarch. Baking soda will neutralize odors and cornstarch aids in preventing perspiration.

6.) Banish Acne with Green Tea

Green Tea’s anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants also fight acne. So, you can also rub the tea bag on your face or simple apply the tea itself with a cotton ball. Leave this toner on overnight and rinse in the morning.

7.) Fight Fatigue & Acne with Peas

Courtesy of the Beauty Gypsy, mix 6 tablespoons of mashed peas, 2 tablespoons yogurt and 1 tablespoon mustard. Apply to face and leave the mask on for 15 minutes. Peas contains many beneficial vitamins, minerals, proteins and antioxidants which help fight aging, acne and generally provide much needed nutrients for your skin. Mustard stimulates the blood and yogurt hydrates and exfoliates the skin. Combined, these ingredients pack a powerful remedy.

8.) Repair Split Ends with Avocado and Olive Oil

For long hair, combine 1 avocado and 1/2 cup olive oil and generously coat your hair from root to tip with the concoction. Leave the mask on for 30 to 60 minutes for optimal results. Rinse the mask out with a regular shower, and your hair will be healthier. You should see an immediate difference in sheen and texture.

9.) Lose the Dark Circles with Green Tea

Make a pot of green tea with two tea bags. Place the used bags on your eyelids for at least 20 minutes. This is ideal for a bath. Green tea contains vitamin K, which helps restore busted capillaries; and this applies to the dark colors that form under your eyes. Whether you are sleep-deprived or have unhealthy eating habits, this mask will help. And drink the tea for other health benefits!

10.) Exfoliate and Energize Your Face with Epsom Salt and Milk Powder Paste

Mix 1 teaspoon epsom salt 2 tablespoon of milk powder to use as a face wash. The abrasion of the epsom salt and lactic acid of the milk will exfoliate your face. The milk also hydrates and soothes while the epsom salt adds magnesium to your skin, which can boost your energy.

11.) Add Strength & Shine to Your Hair with Rice Water

Courtesy of the Beauty Gypsy, use water left over after boiling rice as a conditioner. The protein will add strength and in turn shine to your hair.

12.) Do Away with Acne with Garlic

Simply mash up a clove of garlic and apply the pulp and juice to your face for 10 to 20 minutes. Then rinse off with water or a face wash (to get rid of the smell). Garlic is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, which means that it is great for removing the buildup that causes acne as well as reducing the redness associated with it. Garlic’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties are so effective that it is heavily used in Asia to fight germs in food and fend off the cold and flu.

13.) Reduce Facial Hair with Turmeric

Mix turmeric with either your face wash or with an abrasive element such as sugar (brown sugar or white sugar) or salt (sea salt or epsom salt). Scrub the mixture onto your face and let sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Be aware that some turmeric powders may temporarily dye your skin yellow due to added yellow dye. This can be scrubbed away with some sugar or salt. Alternatively, you can use kasturi turmeric, an organic turmeric powder which will leave your skin color alone :)

14.) Detox Skin with Cinnamon and Honey

The burning properties of cinnamon promotes blood circulation, minimized pores and provides a healthy glow. Honey as we have seen before, is antibacterial removing acne and all that impurities clogging pores.

15.) Fight Acne with Tomato

Just slice up a tomato and rub a slice on your acne twice a day. The citric acid and antioxidants of the tomato will reduce presence of acne and the redness caused by it.

16.) Whiten Teeth with Strawberries

You can either just strawberries (the funner route) or create a paste using 1 large strawberry and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and brush your teeth with the paste. Both strawberries and baking soda have astringent and whitening properties.

17.) Remove Acne Acne Scars with Turmeric

You can mix turmeric with plain water to make this paste. Or, if you would like to add moisture to your skin by mixing turmeric with either milk or coconut oil to make this paste. Mix only a few drops of whatever liquid you choose to use only enough to make thick paste and massage it onto your face. Let it sit for 10-20 minutes and then rinse with water.  Turmeric is antibacterial and antimicrobial, which means that is ideal for removing acne and the redness accompanying it as well as evening out skin color.

18.)  Remove Wrinkles and Fine Lines with Turmeric

Combine equal parts turmeric and rice powder with equal parts tomato juice and whole milk to create a paste. Apply the paste for 45 to 60 minutes and rinse with water.

19.) Firm Skin with Cherries

Just mash up a few cherries and apply the pulp to your face. Let it sit for 30 to 60 minutes and rinse. A sugar scrub may be needed to remove any remnants of cherry pigment on the skin. Cherries are high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. They are not only beneficial to eat, they offer nutrients for skin as well. Antioxidants in cherries protect collagen and therefore firm skin giving you a rejuvenated appearance.

20.) Banish Blackheads and Whiteheads with Cilantro

Dice up 2 tablespoons of cilantro into a pulp and add a few drops of lemon to create a paste. Massage onto your face and let sit for 45-60 minutes and rinse with water. Cilantro is anti-bacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and chalked full antioxidants and vitamins, especially vitamin C. It is ideal for the most difficult parts of acne – whiteheads and blackheads.

21.) Soothe Oily Skin with Banana

Mix 1 mashed banana with 1 tablespoon of honey a few drops of orange to create a paste. Apply the mask for 30 minutes and rinse with water. The enzymes of the banana will remove excess oil  and lessen future oil production. The acid and vitamin C of the orange exfoliate the skin and even skin color. The antibacterial properties of the honey removes acne.

22.) Heal Cracked Heels and Foot Fungus with Vinegar

Soak your feet in vinegar to kill any fungus and soften the skin to make it easier to exfoliate with pumice. You can also add coconut oil to hydrate your feet as you soak and scrub.
