Astrology 2/8/16

The Aquarius New Moon occurs at 9:39 AM at 19°16” Aquarius.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon is “A large white dove bearing a message”.

In spite of the dove’s natural symbolism of peace, this New Moon is a call to action. It has a “civil disobedience” quality to it and it’s overall message is to be an Agent of Change.

Some of us wear that mantle more easily than others, yet everyone has a point where change is resisted.

The dove has been linked to the Goddess of Love in many civilizations: Aphrodite, Venus, Ishtar, Inanna and yes: Isis. For those who haven’t read it, my musings on the media’s use of ISIS as a label

The Sabian Symbol indicates that Love brings a message. We can certainly see the message of Love in our daily life with those we care about, but what is the larger message?

Looking at the horoscope for this New Moon, the message does seem to indicate how we bring Love into our daily routine. Change is upon us and one way or another we will feel the irrevocable effects.

If we change with love, the long-reaching effects will transform our world. This can be a tall order.

Yet think about the impact if every person spoke, voted and acted through Love instead of Fear?

In the U.S. the desire for Change has reached epic proportions in the presidential race, as we see a political novice (who happens to be a ‘reality TV’ personality and millionaire), an Evangelical, a conservative Roman Catholic (I’m old enough to remember when the only RC president, JFK was attacked because people thought he’d bow to the Pope when making government decisions), an exceptional woman with a long political past and an old guy from VT who consistently beats the progressive drum— except on gun control.

As Bowie brilliantly sang Ch-ch-ch-changes!

So this Aquarius New Moon is more than an invitation to acknowledge your innermost hopes and wishes— it’s a mandate: a spiritual MUST!

All of us experience fear, whether we are captive by our own worries or media spin. Today you can face those concerns and put them on a lower tier of awareness. Your primary motivation ideally is the message of your Great Passion. This is a desire that tugs at you— and longs to be heard. It’s not necessarily the same throughout your life, but to get in touch with the feeling— think of your first excitement of youthful freedom, or when you declared a thought that you could not contain.

You may know exactly what your Great Passion is and easily shout off the rooftop its importance. You may know exactly what it is, but tuck it away to a safe and non-confrontational place in your mind.

Then again, you may have absolutely no idea what ignites your passion, so your prayer is to have it revealed— if this is the case, pay attention to what catches your eye/ear at the time of the New Moon. Something may be about to hatch.

If you habitually suppress or quiet your Great Passion, allow yourself time to explore it and all its promise. Actually work on it or plan how to give it credibility! Or it may simply be a dream in your mind; is it time to unearth it?

Whether you are aware of your Grand Passion or not, the New Moon encourages you to nurture the Dream. It won’t feel entirely comfortable, but that’s all part of the chafing to be born!

What would life be like if your Great Passion were allowed to thrive, grow and spread?

With the dove in mind, we can all share a passion for more Love and Peace. Small seemingly simple acts create momentum when echoed by many. That’s why grassroots movements can change the political, environmental and cultural landscapes. Define your passion, put a message behind it and deliver it with Love.

Rise early if possible to get your New Moon intentions lined up in your consciousness. Respond to emails/texts that inspire you; shelve anything that requires thought for another time. Get important phone calls out of the way first thing.

The New Moon occurs at 9:39 AM, after which it is void-of-course/voc* ALL DAY.

Once the New Moon has passed, get things in order for the work to come. The more organized your desk and thoughts are, the farther you can fly over the next few weeks.

This New Moon also ushers in the Chinese New Year of the Fire Monkey. More about this can be heard on my 2016 tele-seminar. For registration that gets you the archived audio, sign up here.

*Moon VOC/Void-of- Course:… in Aquarius you are apt to get caught up in a discussion or a cause which has no resolution. This is an excellent time to visit with friends or bounce around ideas, for pure recreation. If you find that communication is thin, it may be time to reconsider the relationship.
