N.Y.’s Blue Note to blow into Napa

As The Chronicle reported last February, Napa Valley will be getting its very own outpost of the Blue Note Club. The legendary Greenwich Village jazz venue, which also has outposts around the world including Tokyo, Milan, Honolulu and Beijing, would be taking up residence on the first-floor of the Napa Valley Opera House.

In addition to serving as a top-tier performance venue for Wine Country, it will also dish-up Provençal-inspired California cuisine.

Chef Christophe Gerard, who helped open Napa’s Angéle in 2002, will serve as Blue Note Napa’s executive chef. In addition to his time at Angéle, the French-born Gerard’s resume includes Michelin 3 star restaurant Taillevent in Paris, as well as Farm Restaurant at the Carneros Inn and Francis Ford Coppola winery, Rubicon Estate. Gerard will oversee the menu, which is still under development, while the front-of-house will be tended to by general manager Dylan Torcoletti, who served on the hospitality team at Pasadena’s Langham Huntington Hotel in Southern California.

Look for Blue Note Napa to officially opens its doors on October 25.
