Beating Apple to the punch, streaming box giant Roku has rolled out its own branded TV, pre-loaded with its software that enables access to tens of thousands of movies.

The Roku TV launch took place at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The TVs will range in size from 32 to 55 inches and will be available this fall. The Roku TV remotes will contain only half the buttons of other TV remotes, and the devices can also be navigating through Roku’s app on iOS and Android devices.

Anthony Wood, Roku’s founder and CEO, said the following about his company’s new product:

“We’ve applied the same principles that have made Roku the most popular streaming players in America to TVs . . . Roku TV removes all of the complicated layers and menus, and unnecessary features and settings that plague smart TVs today, and instead provides a Roku home screen that brings together all content sources.”

Will a Roku TV be making its way into your living room this fall, Insiders?
