Bigpoint, a leading online game developer and publisher, is expanding its Asian presence with a general manager for its Korean office. The new Country Manager for South Korea will be former Riot and CJ Netmarble Director Derek Oh. “We are very pleased to have Derek with us. Moving forward, he will be the face of Bigpoint in South Korea”, says Giovanni Valeriota, Director of Games Distribution. “Derek brings with him a wealth of experience in providing online games to sophisticated South Korean players. His proven track record makes Derek the perfect person to further tie Bigpoint to the local market.” During his career of 13 years, Oh has gathered extensive experience in the online gaming industry. Most recently, he was the Director of Global Business at CJ Netmarble. At the interactive game division of CJ Group in Korea, he managed seven overseas branches including China, Japan and South East Asia. Previously, at Riot Games, he set up the Korean office and introduced League of Legends to the gaming community, in addition to handling all operational matters as the Director of Game Operations of Riot Games Korea. “I am very happy to be part of the Bigpoint team”, says Derek Oh. “There are a lot of exciting projects going on in the company, especially for South Korea.
