J. Cole is reportedly releasing a follow-up to his impressive 2014 album Forest Hills Drive. The album, 4 Your Eyez Only, is set to be released next week, but you can pre-order it on iTunes now.

Rapper J. Cole has been surprisingly silent in the music world this last year. After his five-part HBO miniseries J. ColeForest Hills Drive: Homecoming premiered at the end of last year, the rapper stepped back from the spotlight to focus on his next upcoming album.

Billboard reported that J. Cole’s album 4 Your Eyez Only will be out December 9. This will be the rapper’s first new solo material in two years.

At NYC’s Meadows Festival in October, J. Cole told the audience that he wouldn’t be performing for a “very long time.”

“Before I get out of here, listen,

this is my last show for a very long time.”

Last night, a mysterious pre-sale appeared on iTunes for a 10-song release called 4 Your Eyez Only. The pre-sale has since been removed from iTunes, but plenty of Twitter users caught it while it was still up.

Is J. Cole trying to pull a Beyonce and release his new album sans-promotion?

A rep for J. Cole could not confirm the album’s release date, title, or even its existence. A rep for Apple declined to comment.

In the past two years since the release of Forest Hills Drive, J. Cole has collaborated on his Dreamville Records label compilation of Revenge of the Dreamers II, which was released on December 8, 2015.

Cole last released a surprise live album in January for his 31st birthday. The release included some live performances of hit songs from Forest Hills Drive and three of his previous hit singles “Lights Please,” “In The Morning,” and “Nobody’s Perfect.”

Will J. Cole’s new album 4 Your Eyez Only include any features or singles? If not, does the album have a chance to go platinum?

It looks like J. Cole has decided his fans will need to wait until next week to find out.

It has been rumored over the past few weeks that Cole had an album coming out with Kendrick Lamar after ScHoolboy Q’s Twitter was hacked which teased the album release.

ScHoolboy Q confirmed that his account was hacked shortly after.

“Just got a pHone call from @retOne I’m Hacked y’all kno damn well I don’t talk like dat lol.”

For those who are unfamiliar with the rapper, J. Cole, he began his career as a producer and MC. He was the first artist signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label. Cole stood outside of Jay-Z’s office for days in hopes of getting him to listen to a demo and his persistence paid off.

J. Cole was shocked to hear that a few weeks after listening to his demo, Jay-Z asked him to contribute to his 2009 album, The Blueprint 3. That same year, Cole released his first mixtape The Warm Up.

His first official album was released in 2011 by Roc nation called Cole World: The Sideline Story. The album Born Sinner followed up in 2013 with guest appearances from Miquel, TLC, and Kendrick Lamar.
