Home Alone is returning to theaters for a limited time only!

The 1990 Chris Columbus-directed film starring Macauley Culkin is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year by coming back to the big screen for two nights in November, according to USA Today.

Thanks to 20th Century Fox and Fathom Events, longtime fans of the Home Alone franchise will get another chance to see 8-year-old Kevin McAllister (played by Macauley Culkin) protect himself and his home from two unsuspecting burglars – Harry and Marv (played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.)

According to the report, Home Alone will have showtimes scheduled for November 8 and 11. Responses and reactions to the news on Twitter prove that Home Alone(which was written by the late John Hughes) made a significant impact in the minds and hearts of moviegoers.

Allow me to quote Kevin Mcallister: “who wants to spend Christmas in a tropical climate?”

Young Macauley Culkin reprised his role as Kevin McAllister in the 1992 follow-up sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Instead of being left at home alone, young Kevin got on the wrong plane at the airport when the family was rushing to catch their flight and ended up in the Big Apple right along with Harry and Marv yet again.

Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York were both huge box-office hits for 20th Century Fox and Hughes Entertainment. These films also helped to boost Macauley Culkin’s career in Hollywood.

There were three additional movies that were eventually added as installments to the Home Alone franchise. However, none of those follow-up sequels came close to the commercial and critical success of the first two.

Keep in mind that the first Home Alone movie earned two Oscar nominations, according to Box Office Mojo, and set the record for the highest-selling movie of 1990.

The return of Home Alone to theaters in November is apparently just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what 20th Century Fox has done to celebrate its anniversary.

According to USA Today, a collection of all five movies in the Home Alone franchise will be available for purchase on October 6 along with digital HD versions of the first two films.
