Highlights for this time frame include: July 27th in Seattle, WA at Capitol Hill Block Party; September 4th in New York, NY at Le Poisson Rouge; And September 6th-7th in Raleigh, NC at Hopscotch Music Festival. You can download Rose Windows’ “Wartime Lovers”, the second single from The Sun Dogs. SPIN.com premiered the track, says of the band and song: “Singer Rabia Qazi coos like an ever-so-slightly smoothed Janis Joplin, and project mastermind Chris Cheveyo has a compositional ear that swirls the Doors, the Band, and Black Sabbath up beautifully in big old soup pot with flavors plucked from vintage Middle Eastern psychedelia…This incredibly lush highlight kicks off with a hail of bells and keys, and quickly expands into a barefoot orchestra’s worth of instrumentation and groove. At one point late in the song Qazi implores us to “gently escape,” but we already have — into a simpler, more sonically rich time where vines entwine harp strings and tambourines are handed out to all comers’ (see May 22nd premiere).”

What People Are Saying About Rose Windows:

“A blend of nuanced and ballsy psychedelic folk-rock that takes its cues from Earth, Black Sabbath, Tinariwen, and the storied history of delta blues. With a vintage organ weaving up and down like a massive snake, they pile on burned-out guitars, bits of rambling bass, a little flute, and some soul-shattering-ly intense vocals” ["Native Dreams"] – Consequence of Sound

“This tasty little piece of grunge psychedelia is the first teaser from Rose Windows’ forthcoming debut LP, The Sun Dogs… “Native Dreams” is an expansive, futuristic, long-playing howler and the most recent reason why 2013 already sounds better than its predecessor.” ["Native Dreams"] – Seattle Weekly
