Hello and Welcome to this edition of iMarketForce.

First up, a bit of business…

~# Are Your Ready For Something Refreshingly Different? ~#

I wrote to you last week about ‘Commission Machine’, the new product from hugely successful affiliate marketer (and fellow ‘Brit’) Michael Cheney.

As reported, the price duly increased on Sunday but the good news is that the increase was only $5, to $24.95.

So this still represents exceptional value for money.

Why?

Well, if you have been around the internet marketing block a few times, I am sure you have bought more than a few products that promised something new, refreshing and different to everything that came before them…

Only to find that (yawn) they turn out to be more of the same old, same old.

Well, Commission Machine is one of those rare beasts that promises to be different and actually is.

Michael discloses the ‘system’ behind his phenomenal success as an affiliate marketer and it is genuinely radically different from what pretty much everyone else is telling you to do.

It certainly got my attention.

If you are an affiliate marketer, or you plan to be one in future, this is training I heartily recommend you take advantage of, particularly at the low asking price.

If you don’t like what Michael has to tell you (and it is uncompromising), just take advantage of the no questions asked money back guarantee.

(Just to let you know, the price will be increasing again soon.)

~# 3 Simple Traffic Sources #~

“How do I get traffic?” is up there as one of the commonest questions I get asked.

So here is a quick run down of 3 of the methods I am currently using in my business.

But first, forget ‘Search Engine Optimisation’ or ‘SEO’.

This is where you (or someone you hire) plays around with your website in the hope that Google will show you on their first page of results for relevant search terms.

This is soooo 10 years ago in its effectiveness.

Yes, it is still possible to rank a website and even to do it quite quickly.

But the game is most definitely not worth the candle.

I know because I’ve been there, done that and got the T-shirt.

I even managed to get my website listed in the numero uno slot for several very competitive keywords.

My celebrations were short-lived.

Within a couple of weeks, I had been shunted down to the bottom of page 1.

Another couple of weeks and I was consigned to the oblivion of page 2.

You may not think that is too shabby.

Page 2 of hundreds of thousands of results for my keywords.

But do you know how many people ever make it to page 2 when they are searching Google?

One or two in every hundred… if you’re lucky.

That taught me a valuable lesson.

Don’t TRY to get page 1 rankings.

If you intend to create a genuine ‘authority’ website on a topic, go ahead and do it.

You may just make it to the top.

But treat it as a bonus.

And certainly don’t bank on it.

And ignore all of the products out there promising to show you some ‘secret method’ for getting fast rankings.

They. Just. Don’t. Work.

So what to do instead?

As promised, here are 3 alternatives…

1) Solo Ads

Yes, solo ads are so old that Noah used them to recruit carpenters to help him build the Ark.

But they’ve been around for a long time for a reason.

They work.

In case you don’t know, a ‘solo ad’ is where you pay someone with an email list to send out an email promoting your offer.

Almost always, this offer has to be free, so you will be sending the traffic to an optin form where visitors have to give you their email address to get the free gift.

Most newbie marketers ignore the tried and tested methods of traffic generation.

Probably because so many other marketers are distracting them with so many ‘almost magical’ shiny new traffic ideas.

But there really is no need to reinvent the wheel.

In fact, there is every reason not to. Why mess with something that MAY work when you can invest your time and energy in something that definitely DOES work?

You can get solo ads for around 50 cents a click in the internet marketing space and even less for other, less competitive, niches.

(With solo ads, you buy a specified number of clicks to your offer, typically in batches of 100.)

In case you’re wondering, 50 cents a click is actually pretty cheap…

If you have paid offers set up in your email follow up series.

So, for a $100 solo ad you’ll generate 200 targeted visitors to your optin or ‘squeeze page’.

If you have a desirable free gift in place, you should be able to get 30% to 50% of visitors to join your list.

Let’s call it 40%.

So 200 visitors produces 200 x 40% = 80 new subscribers in the bag and ready to be sold too.

And this will be high-quality, highly targeted traffic because you will have chosen a list in your niche.

You just saved yourself all sorts of pain trying to get a website ranked or writing endless articles or making endless guest blog posts.

1,000 subscribers will cost you around $1,250.

And 1,000 subscribers can make you a reasonable income online.

If you don’t have $1,250 lying around, you build your list in stages, using some or all of your growing income to finance more solo ads.

This really isn’t ‘rocket science’.

Now for method number 2…

2) Facebook Ads

This is my favourite traffic source at the moment.

It’s about as targeted as you can get and it’s fast.

You can put an ad up in the morning and have traffic hitting your offer by the afternoon.

You can target people by age, gender, country, income, education, occupation and, above all, what Facebook pages they are interested in.

You could target 45 year-old single women working as nurses, living in Detroit and with a passion for German Shepherds and scrap-booking, should you so desire.

And Facebook ads are still relatively cheap, especially for a level of targeting you can’t find anywhere else.

By the way, if you would like to find out how I am using Facebook ads to generate more than $250 in profit per day by promoting just ONE affiliate product (and I promote lots), check out my Facebook Traffic Rush course here…

Last but definitely not least…

3) Your Autoresponder Follow Up Series

When people join your list, they are added to your ‘autoresponder’.

This is a piece of software that allows you (amongst other things) to send out a series of pre-written emails at pre-determined intervals to everyone who joins your list.

Some of those emails will offer pure ‘content’ and others will make offers selected to appeal to your subscribers.

Your autoresponder is your best online marketing pal.

If you provide useful information in an entertaining manner and make genuinely valuable product recommendations, people WILL buy from you.

Unfortunately, many ‘newbies’ either hammer their list with one poor offer after another or shirk away from ever asking people to buy anything.

So you do have to get the balance right but, when you do, your autoresponder series becomes an automated cash machine.

I still marvel that I can make serious money simply by sending an email out.

And that’s what you want to be aiming for too.

Don’t over complicate this.

Solo ads… Facebook ads… and an autoresponder follow-up sequence is all you need to start building a thriving online business TODAY.

No excuses.

Go start doing it.

I have only just discovered Xmarks.com but it’s rapidly become one of my best online marketing friends.

It’s a bookmarking site, which means that it allows users to ‘bookmark’ their favourite websites so they can come back to them again and again.

All web browsers have this feature but the useful thing with Xmarks is that you can search for the most bookmarked websites in any niche you care to mention.

You just enter your keywords in the search bar at Xmarks.com and back come the most popular sites.

How can you use this information?

Well, you can use it to find great websites for your own consumption…

Or you can find out what these sites are doing to make themselves so popular and reflect it in your marketing and/or product creation.

Oh, and what a great source of potential joint venture partners and places to advertise your offers!

~# What I’ve Been Up To This Week ~#

I am just back from a very pleasant long weekend in Lyme Regis, a small coastal town in Dorset, England.

We had several family holidays there when I was a child and it holds fond memories for me, so I love going back.

In case you don’t know, Lyme Regis sits on the ‘Jurassic Coast’, which is a World Heritage Site because of the vast amount of fossils that have been unearthed there.

It was the site of many of the earliest discoveries of (often complete) dinosaur remains, including the ichthyosaur, plesiosaur, dimorphodon and scelidosaurus, not to mention a fossil of the world’s largest ever moth.

And it was the hunting ground of the renowned 19th century fossil hunter, Mary Anning. (Look her up, she was a remarkable woman.)

I spent many a happy hour following in her footsteps and actually built up a sizeable collection of ammonites.

Sadly, I never did find that complete Tyrannosaurus Rex that I (and every other schoolboy) was looking for.

But that isn’t Lyme Regis’ only claim to fame.

It also features in Jane Austen’s ‘Persuasion’ and John Fowles’ ‘The French Lieutenant’s Woman’ (scenes from the film adaptation were shot there).

It’s well worth a visit.

And don’t miss ‘The Whole Hog’ takeaway with its HUGE pork, crackling and gravy bap!

~# And Finally… #~

I stumbled across this video the other day…

If you have ever been the ‘expert’ in a room full of ‘non-experts’, you will find this as hilarious as I do.

It’s one of the reasons I happily gave up corporate life to go work on my own!

Until next time,
