Congressman Cook – who represents the mountain communities – explained in a media release that the event will be held in Apple Valley in November.
“This year,” Cook stated, “we will be focusing on Vietnam veterans from the 8th Congressional District.
“This year marks the 50th anniversary since the start of the Vietnam War,” Cook noted. “This conflict was a challenging time for our country and many service men and women experienced public backlash upon returning home.
“In honor of their incredible sacrifice,” Congressman Cook emphasized, “we’re going to show our appreciation for Vietnam veterans with this event.”
