There’s no question mark required for this one.
The Democrat Party has another 2016 campaign issue to deal with.
This time the problem is Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The issue? The non-profit Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). The foundation ran by all three Clinton’s, Bill, Hillary and Chelsea.
The potent revelations didn’t just dribble out last week. They blew up with full force.
Here’s some of the most alarming allegations.
CGI tax records show that it reported raising $1.7 billion in cash and pledges between 2001 and 2013. As of the end of 2014, donations reached just under $2 billion.
A paltry 10%, or thereabout, has actually been distributed to charitable causes.
Millions have been spent on travel junkets.
President Barack Obama forced then-Secretary of State Clinton to curtail CGI’s fundraising from large corporations and foreign governments.
According to the Washington Post, CGI has up it’s fundraising efforts of late. The foundation is now raising money at a $250 million per year clip.
If no one believes this won’t be a campaign issue in 2016, think again. Conservative Super-Pacs will dissect everything about CGI and its donors. Democrats, who have started to bristle over the likely public perception, know it’s coming too.
They’d be naive to believe otherwise.
Here is a smattering of donors to CGI, courtesy of the Wall Street journal:
