Halloween Horror Nights 2013 at Universal Studios Hollywood continues its domination as Los Angeles’ best Halloween event, and reguarlly considered one of the top 2 in Southern California. With six top-notch mazes, the terror tram and the back lot experience, coupled with scare zones and live shows, all coupled with the actors, sets, lighting stars and movies that have made Hollywood famous, this is an event you should be scared to miss!

Mazes

“Halloween Horror Nights” brings together the sickest minds in horror to immerse guests in a living, breathing, three-dimensional world of terror.  Mazes include: “The Walking Dead:  No Safe Haven,” based on AMC’s Golden Globe®-nominated and Emmy® Award-winning TV series; “Evil Dead:  Book of the Dead,” based on Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s chilling remake of the cult classic; “Black Sabbath: 13 3D,” inspired by the darkest lyrics from the legendary rock band’s 43-year history of Heavy Metal music, “Insidious: Into the Further” based on the disturbing “Insidious” film franchise that explores the darkest corners of the paranormal experience and “El Cucuy: The Boogeyman,” a startling, terror-filled maze based on the Latin American legend of the mythical, shape-shifting monster, will feature chilling narration by prolific actor and producer, Danny Trejo.

This means HHN has 6 mazes, one more than last year. To pull this off, HHN includes a second tram in the lower level to take you to two new mazes. The popularity of HHN continues to expand, and so does HHN itself.

One of our favorites this year was Black Sabbath: 3D. With Black Sabbath putting out their new album “13,” singer Ozzy Osborne and wife Sharon Osborne dropped by to kick of the festivities and accept his “Eyegore Award.” The maze was in 3D, so our pictures can’t do it justice, but understand that the distractions will be in 3D and the monsters will pop out of the last place you might expect to find them!

Another great maze is the classic Monsters Remix. The venue snakes multiple floors, with multiple creatures that are larger than life. Bring an extra pair of pants- you might need them!

Terror Tram

Unique to Universal Studios’ 415-acre location is the Terror Tram, which takes you to their sizable backstage. This is where you will be greeted (attacked) by “walkers” (walking dead people). This will be followed by a lengthy maze through a maze that may cause you to think you’re at the creepiest camp out of your life!
