I want everyone's opinion Rudy's choice of taking the fast track trial option, which gives him less rights as the type of trial Amanda/Raffaele had. It sounds like Mignini has no control over Rudy's choice. True or not does Mignini want Rudy tried with the other two? Doesn't Rudy give the defense a counter point against evidence presented against Amanda/Raffaele? Puts a face on the person who had a background in break-ins while carrying a knife? Who life was spinning out of control, no job and no real prospects for the future. Most important his DNA all over the crime scene. Then fleeing to Germany after the murder.

When you consider Amanda/Raffaele lifes had such different future paths. Hard workers with good educations with real prospests for their futures. Also their DNA wasn't in the Meredith's bedroom. No motive etc.

So while we are to believe Mignini had no control over Rudy's choice of taking a fast track trial. The charges he faced are:
1 Murder
2 Sexual Assualt
3 Theft

What Mignini was in control of was what charges Rudy did face what's missing from those charges how about a real Break-in, carrying a knife. Since he was found guilty on the first two while aqquited on the third. After the trial and the two appeals his sentence is reduced from 30 years to 16 years. Partly to do with taking the fast track trial and saying to the Kercher family that he was sorry he didn't do more to save Meredith live. Also the court ruled that someone with a key to the cottage was apart of multiply killers that someone being Amanda Knox.

If Rudy faced those two charges of break-in, with knife and is convicted on all the charges. Doesn't that say to all (except guilters) that Amanda Knox doesn't have to be at the cottage that night with her keys? Just like work that night Amanda can stay at Raffaele's flat with their phones off having a quite night in.

So if Rudy was found guilty on break-in, with a knife, theft, murder, sexual assualt would that not change the end results of any reduction in Rudy's sentence? So that what Mignini gave Rudy to stay out of his way. Which is to convict Amanda and Raffaele.

I am not sure if I fully understand your point, but I think you are saying that if Rudy had not taken the fast track, and had been tried together with Amanda and Raffaele, he would have faced charges that he broke in to the cottage also? And that would contradict the staged break in theory?

I think that, if Rudy had been tried in the same trial as Amanda and Raff, that Mignini would have not charged Rudy with breaking in, and tried to say that Amanda let Rudy and Raff in, and that after Rudy ran off, Amanda and Raff staged the break in. Same story as he used, he just would have not charged Rudy with the staging part.

My opinion as to why Rudy did the Fast Track option is that it was the best choice for him given the evidence, and given that he was actually guilty, and the other two were not. There was so much evidence against him, that they odds were very high he would be convicted, so it was to his advantage to get a sentence reduction rather than gamble he would be acquitted. And being tried in the same courtroom as Amanda and Raffaele when they would be claiming that they were not there, and their lawyers would show how much evidence there was gainst Rudy, and none against them, it would have put Rudy in a bad place. Do I think Mignini left some of the charges off of Rudy so he could charge Amanda and Raff with them? Yes. But I think he would have done that either way.
