Estate of Rotta vs. First Transit and Aleksander Rukhlin
Davis Law Group, P.S. has filed a lawsuit in the wrongful death of Robert and Elizabeth Rotta who were tragically killed in May 2013 when a Sound Transit bus ran a red light and crashed into the SUV in which they were both passengers. The lawsuit claims that the bus contractor and bus driver acted negligently and ultimately caused the bus collision.
Who is 'First Transit'? Why isn't 'Sound Transit' named in the lawsuit?
It is not commonly know that Washington State’s Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (aka Sound Transit) is actually operated by an out-of-state company. Sound Transit outsources the operation of bus service to Community Transit which intern outsources to First Transit, Inc. Sound Transit contracts with the Snohomish County agency known as Community Transit to provide bus transportation or common carrier services in the Puget Sound region. Community Transit then contracts with Ohio-based First Transit, Inc. to provide these same bus transportation and common carrier services in King and Snohomish Counties.
