An 18-year-old woman in Sydney, Australia had what she described as her worst nightmare when she helplessly watched her car roll into the sea.

All these happened on Saturday morning when the teenager parked alongside the Bayview boat ramp. The spider, which was crawling on her while seated inside the vehicle, had landed on her lap after dropping for the sun shade. It is not only a common habit, but also a national concern for the huntsman spiders to hide in the glove boxes or the sun visors of Australian cars.

The teenager jumped out of her car when she was trying her best to fight off the spider. Unfortunately, she forgot to keep a close eye on her car which slowly rolled into the sea waters, drifting 25 meters away from the beach. Stuart Cooper, a local man, together with the teenager’s mother who had shown up, thought someone was inside the car when they spotted it rolling into the sea.

The daughter revealed that she was embarrassed to watch her expensive car drift into the sea water when she was speaking to news reporters. However, the car was retrieved in a two-hour operation after divers were sent to help recover the vehicle.

All these wouldn’t have happened if the driver had been calm. After all, the huntsman spiders are never dangerous, despite their scary appearance and size. In fact, they always prefer to run away, rather than bite!
