It is fair to say that we have been waiting for news on an official GTA 5 release date for sometime and the latest information about a confirmed time of arrival has us excited to say the least, although we are not so enthusiastic about the date given. According to the official website and Facebook page, we are looking at a time of arrival being September 17 although we can understand that many gamers were expecting it much sooner with April/May being the widely speculated time of release. Rockstar has made it clear in their small blog post that they understand some gamers will feel disappointed, especially considering they published an image with “spring” 2013 as the release date window, which is four months prior to the new date. This is due to extra polish required to develop this ambitious game to the high standard gamers are expecting, and they believe fans we feel it is worthwhile once GTA 5 becomes available in September. Although we are also disappointed about this delay, we do understand that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be well worth waiting for and the majority of gamers will at least be glad to receive a release date. The last game in the franchise had been released around 5 years ago and this was just a couple of years after the current generation of consoles released, so it will be interesting to see how developers have tapped more into the power of both the Xbox 360 and PS3. For starters, we know the game will look better and be much bigger than GTA IV. Following the official announcement of the GTA 5 release date it did not surprise us that the comments on Rockstar’s website would include angry gamers, but the website moderators have already issued warnings to those being a little aggressive. If some gamers continuing voicing their opinions in a way Rockstar don’t like on the official website, then those involved will have their “privileges suspended“. Are you happy to finally receive the official Grand Theft Auto 5 release date, or are you unhappy about the delay?
