Tools for Your Organization’s Digital Content Creation
It’s the digital age. Your organization needs a strong digital presence, and it involves much more than creating a website for your organization. Nowadays, it requires social media activity, email campaigns, and a constant supply of downloadable digital content. How do you create all of this without a team of professional, graphic designers?
You can use PowerPoint to create some of these elements, but what if you’re working from a device that doesn’t have the software installed? Well, the magic of the internet has brought us alternatives to digital content creation. One of our favorite apps is Canva , a web-based design platform that helps users create blog graphics, presentations, Facebook covers, flyers, posters, digital signage content, and more via computer or tablet.
Here’s the kicker: Canva has a product that specifically helps business professionals create their content. It’s appropriately called: Canva for Work. Easy to use, easy to access- Canva for Work is a perfect solution for beginners and intermediate level designers. Since Canva is a paint-by-numbers solution for engaging content, there’s no longer an excuse for a lack of campaign images. Branded design elements are no longer a mysteriously obtained fantasy.
Canva for Digital Content Types
Canva offers content design solutions for social media images, email headers, invitations, ebooks, and more. All are pre-sized to fit the outlet of your choosing. That means, you don’t have to fumble around with any resizing or cropping tools to get your Facebook banners to look professional. As well as design types, Canva for Work also has an excellent feature called magic resize. Magic resize allows you to instantly change and export one design into multiple dimensions in seconds. Go ahead, let out that sigh of relief!
Images
Pictures and graphics are vital in any digital content recipe. Upload your own images and logos into your account, and edit, add a filter, and resize them as needed for each content piece. Don’t have any photography or vector images of your own? No worries. Canva has a stockpile of free assets, with premium images and vectors for just $1 a piece.
Fonts
Using Arial or Times New Roman to attract clients to your messages? I’m going to stop you right there- It’s not working. Tired, cliché fonts are detrimental to your cause. Luckily, Canva has hundreds of unique fonts and pre-made text elements; perfect for eye-catching messaging. Use a swirly, curly font for “Happy Birthday” messaging, and a bold, crisp typography for safety procedure instructions. Additionally, once you have Canva for Work you have the ability to upload your own fonts. If you have a style guide for your business already, you can upload your own licensed brand fonts and use them in Canva.
Templates
Not sure where to put the text and images in your email banner? Canva has it all mapped out for you. Their templates simply require users to drag and drop assets into the design. The software embeds the images into the template automatically. Click, drag, drop = expertly created content. It’s that easy.
Use It on Your iPad
As mentioned above, most graphic design, content-creation software is installed into desktop computers. If you’re not sitting in front of that particular computer, you can’t use the software. What if you’re on the go? Internet access is available to cell phones, ipads, and tablet. If you’re managing your digital signage on the go, you can create your content via Canva.
Collaboration
With the Canva for Work subscription, multiple users in your organization can access the brand kits, templates, logos, fonts, images, and files you’ve saved within the account. The cloud storage solution keeps your files safe, secure, and ready to use for anyone on the account.
Once you understand the basics of the solution, the possibilities are endless. Don’t have a bland digital presence! Add some graphics to your next email campaign, social media post or signage campaign. Canva for Work is a great solution for any organization lacking digital content.
