This is the third ECM Konica Minolta has now acquired. I’ve been impressed with Konica Minolta’s focus on what is clearly an increasingly growing opportunity for our channel. Every manufacturer has their sweet spot and ECM is quickly becoming one of Konica Minolta’s greatest strengths.

The vertical market approach they are taking with respect to their acquisitions in ECM will no doubt provide Konica Minolta with a strong advantage over most competitors in this space.

Prior to this announcement, I had the opportunity to chat with Sam Errigo from Konica Minolta. Sam told me “The acquisition on Results Engineering is core to our services and solutions strategy and strengthens our position as a market leader.  Our focus is to deliver integrated services in the ECM and Managed IT space on a national basis.  Konica Minolta’s Business Intelligences Services organization provides support to both the dealer and direct channel for ECM, Managed IT Services and software support.  We believe this is a significant advantage that will position our dealers and direct channel for long-term success.”

Managing structured and unstructured documents is becoming increasingly challenging for customers and Konica Minolta appears to be working hard to provide a cohesive program. Doing so with this vertical approach ensures that customers will be able to leverage best practices based on common issues and scenarios within their offices.

Congratulations Konica Minolta, yet another arrow in your quill.
