CNTO Exhibits at Cruise Shipping Miami 2014 Beijing Visit Incentives – Visa Waiver & Tax Refunds
Travel to Beijing has been made easier thanks to the 72-hour visa-free stay policy which allows transit passengers arriving by air who have an airline ticket to a third destination to stay without a visa. The policy, which applies to Beijing, as well as six other China cities, has substantially increased the number of travelers benefiting from this new waiver policy. Beijing officials also are working to make visiting the city even easier with custom tour packages, transportation discounts, and planned tax refunds for tourists shopping in Beijing.
China Working to Fight Pollution
China is working to make progress in the fight against pollution and the results are starting to show improvement. China has made recent efforts to control its coal consumption and development and has implemented a goal to reduce its carbon emissions per unit of GDP by 2020. Many cement factories and power plants have been closed recently, and Beijing has seen a drive to plant trees and other green efforts. While there is still much work to be done, China is making strides in addressing environmental issues and making positive changes.
New Guidelines for China Cruise Industry
China’s cruise industry is booming, as cruising through China’s rivers and seas makes for an incredible way to visit the country’s many enticing destinations. With this rapid growth comes a need for planning and regulations, which the Ministry of Transport and China National Tourism Administration have appointed the China Cruise and Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA) to do. By October of this year, CCYIA plans to complete general planning, guidelines to facilitate and secure the sound development of China’s cruise industry, and goals and routes for the cruise industry in China between 2014 and 2025.
