Glimpses of Nepal

Overview:

Choose to get close up to the mountains to take amazing pictures on a mountain flight and enjoy mouthwatering Nepali cuisine on the same day in a quaint little restaurantin old town Bhaktapur. Wonder and ponder about Tantric wooden carvings in temples in Kathmandu Durbar Square or choose to enjoy evening lights at Patan Durbar square after looking through the history of the city in its fabulous museum. Later on, look at the sprawling Kathmandu valley through Buddha’s eyes from the top of the Swayambhu hillock and get up close to hordes of macaques who call the Temple premises their home. Just make sure your bananas are out of sight.

If you feel like it, get out of the bustle of Kathmandu Valley to get among the hills and take a day hike in Dhulikhel to enjoy mountain vistas. If you are the type, take a 160ft vertical dive into the Bhotekoshi River at a bungee resort, or maybe a canyoning venture will suffice. And If you are all for it, and have a day to spare, you can also bike to Nagarkot or go search for spirituality in Buddhist monasteries and Hindu retreat centers.

Let Mystik Mountains give you a glimpse of Nepal, and we will make sure you return home wanting for more!

Discover Nepal

Overview

The biggest draw about Nepal are the mighty mountains that lie to the north, and maybe the mysticism that accompanies them. Rightly so; the mountains are magnificent and walking in their shadows might be the most spiritual/adventurous/cool/awesome thing that you will have ever done in your life. But, at Mystik Moutains, we believe that there is so much more to Nepal than just the mountains and we want you to see it through our eyes.

Let us help you discover Nepal in a way that you have never imagined. Scream and get wet with us while battling white water waves on a raft in Bhotekoshi or Trishuli, share an elephant ride to look for the rare rhinos and Bengal tigers in the humid subtropical forests at Chitwan Naitonal Park, get thrilled during a paragliding or a zip lining endeavor in Pokhara-the most beautiful town in the world, enjoy huffing and puffing while climbing massive hills to catch a sunrise that make the Himalayas go rosy pink in Poon Hill, savor the tastiest meals in villages in the shadows of the mountains, find solace in the words of meditative bodhisattvas that hope to emulate the Buddha, sing and dance in the rhythm of hymns in Hindu temples, and enjoy the colors of the cities filled with breathtaking pieces of art and culture that will make you sing with joy.

Wild West – The Roadless Travelled

Trip Overview:

If you are looking for a touch of solitude among pristine landscapes, then Western Nepal might be where you want it to be. This region is relatively ‘unpopular’ and so is less crowded and will take you far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life into the quiet of the soundless mountains and sub tropical forests where you can enjoy breathtaking views.

The region is renowned for its lush valleys and pristine forests full of wildlife, rocky cliffs, quiet lakes, and the cultural blend of Hindu and ancient Buddhist ways of life. The spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks will accompany you in most places as you experience the richness and diversity of culture, tradition and lifestyles of the inhabitants of the villages that you visit – within a mere 5 kms, you might come across villages where people speak different languages. Down south are the jungles where the mighty Bengal tigers roam and if you can use your lucky charm, you might spot one while on an elephant’s back!

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.”

- Robert Frost (1874–1963). Mountain Interval. 1920.

Mt. Kailash And Mansarovar

-Spiritual Journey Of A Lifetime!

Trip Overview:

Revered by a billion Hindus and millions of Buddhists along with Jains and Bonpos, Mt Kailash and Mansarovar Lake are one of the holiest sites in the world. The journey to these magnificent sites is not an easy task but Mystik Mountains will ensure that you go on this beautiful spiritual adventure with the least amount of hassle and maximum ease.

According to Hindu mythology, Mt Kailash(6714m/ 22021 ft) is the abode of Lord Shiva-the destroyer and his spouse Goddess Parvati. Mansarovar Lake is believed to be the soul of the Brahma and the bathing place of these mega gods. It is believed that if a devotee takes a bath in the emerald green lake, s/he cleanses from the entire sins of 100 births. Tibetans revere the mountain as Kailas Kang Rimpoche . Jains worship it as Mt Asthapada, the peak from which their religion’s founder, Rishabanatha achieved spiritual liberation. Followers of Bon-Po, the ancient pre- Buddhist shamanistic religion of Tibet, revere Kailas as the soul of Tibet.

Mansarovar area is also the starting point of four prominent Asiatic perennial rivers namely,-the Ganges, Brahmaputra, Satlej and Indus. These rivers flow down south and are the source of life for millions of people residing in the Indian subcontinent. Come prepared for a journey of a lifetime!

Upper Mustang Trek

- Magic Beyond The Mountains!

Trip Overview:

Mystik Mountains would like an opportunity to show you the magic that Upper Mustang encompasses. Come with us off the heavily treaded paths to embark on a journey of a lifetime to explore the “Last forbidden Kingdom” of Nepal. The Buddhist kingdom of Mustang (also known as Lo) is heavily influenced by Tibetan culture and has more similarities with Tibet than Nepal. The capital of Lo is the walled city “Lo-Manthang” where Mustangi King Jigme Parbal Bista resides. If luck is on your side, you might get an audience with his majesty.

Located behind the Annapurna Massif, this transhimalayan region sees very little rainfall and is a treeless barren heaven. The high alpine desert has a magic of its own and might make you feel like a mystic meditative monk walking around searching for his elusive Buddhahood. Snow capped Himalayan giants Annapurna, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri loom nearby while you walk on rocky trails battling strong afternoon winds Upper Mustang is so famous for. The region is also known for its mystical thousand year old caves, Buddhist mani walls and chortens, and the pristine lifestyle of the residents that has withstood the onslaught of modernity.
