News from Animal Samaritans: Calling All Superheroes. Animal Samaritans Superheroes 5K Run / Walk for the Animals is Saturday, March 4, 2017 beginning at 8am.  The run / walk starts and ends at Rancho Mirage Community Park on Whitewater Place.

Participants receive a cape, t-shirt, medal, trophy for age groups, a swag bag with goodies from our sponsors and the opportunity to win one of 3 door prizes, each valued at $200.00 or more.   Only those registered by March 1 are eligible for the drawing.  Bib numbers will be randomly selected and winners announced at the end of the 5K.

Non-runners are welcome too.   We will have adoptable dogs from 5 rescues, a Superhero costume contest for you and your dog, a 1K Walk, and a Kids Dash.

You can run in your cape, you can run through the tape, you can run with your dog, you run with a frog, OR you can walk and talk!  Whatever your preference, join Rancho Mirage Mayor Weil, Bianca Rae, Luke’s Legacy Foundation and Animal Samaritans, as we honor and celebrate all those involved in animal rescue, animal sheltering, adoption, and pet ownership.  All proceeds benefit Animal Samaritans.  Advanced on line registration is $35.00 and ends 5pm March 1.  Registration after that is 40.00.  Visit Active.com, racewire.com or runpalmsprings.com to register today.
