Day#50 Recap 2

Day 14  was approaching. This was the day that the Doctors really pushed for Carol to come off the life support. Apparently the tube keeping Carol alive would start to leave scar tissue. It was at the back of my mind about scar tissue they had given me 2 choices anyway and one of them was to let her pass. I wanted another CT scan to take place. Its amazing the things I was told about asking for another CT scan. Do you know how much that will cost you if you ask for one? Yep who gives a log how much it costs this means more to me than any medical bill the rich quacks can throw at me.

Ct scan done no further bleeding has taken place but a huge scar to the base of the brain. That's it im not giving up on Carol. I had a brief discussion with the internal medicine doctor to keep Carol alive. So they placed a trach and proceeded with the feed tube to the stomach. That was a story in its self.

I get a call 2 minutes before the tube is inserted into Carols stomach. Ok Mr Westwood this is a very simple procedure and its going to take this amount of time to complete. Do you have any questions? Erm yes. My wife had a gastric bypass 10 years ago how will this effect the placing of the feed tube? Silence. She had a what? A gastric bypass!! Oh ok let me get back to you.

The doc didn't even look at the med chart. Amazing. Cut a long story short I was upset. The surgeon performed the opp the next day.

I would just like to thank everyone from Carols family, my family, Carols co workers my co workers especially Fran, Camille ,Jill, Diane, Alice ,Marin, Dr B, Sheri, Jen, Jennifer, Lynn, Sarah, Tony ,aunties Cess.Rio ,Dad and Dad ,Lala, Telu Wendy Awni John ,Sandy ,Sis and brother to be ,Heidi,Stacey,  Maureen, Annie, Mary Beth,The flees family Betsy,Keith. Friends, aunties uncles, people I don't know but do now. Bless you all. ok interlude over :)

So basically its a matter of sitting and waiting to see how much of Carol is still in there. Im still getting mixed messages from the nurses about quality of life for Carol. I was told over and over again we can keep Carol alive indefinitely its down to you whether you want to carry on or go the way of comfort care.(pulling the plug)
