Clashes in Bollywood are inevitable. Even your best laid plans of not arriving at the box office with yet another biggie can go horribly wrong because someone else might be eyeing the same spot. Earlier they weren’t a big deal but now with so much at stake, the collision of two massive film can spell doom for the industry if they don’t perform. Because at the end of the day it’s always Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan or Akshay Kumar who save Bollywood from slipping into staggering losses with their blockbuster hits. And all these superstars have a fetish for festival dates. Shah Rukh wants Diwali, Salman is fixated on Eid and Aamir feels Christmas is his lucky charm. Akshay has thus made peace with the two patriotic dates I-Day and Republic Day. And that has given rise to more clashes than ever. You must be hearing a lot about these collisions at the box office and we bet you are finding it difficult to keep a note of all of them. Worry not, we will tell you some of the biggest box office clashes which will change the dynamics of trade in the industry.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Vs Shivaay

Release date: October 28, 2016

Diwali has always been SRK’s thing but since two years now, he has given it up. Thus it was up for grabs and Salman Khan made a lot of cash with Prem Ratan Dhan Payo last year on this festival. But this year, it will be even more flashy because on one side if there’s Karan Johar’s tale of love and pain Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, there’s also Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, a magnum opus. The trailer of the latter has wowed everyone. The kind of special effects used in the film will be top-class from what we have gathered from the trailer. Plus, Ajay’s performance which has always impressed one and all. If he does a Shivaay, he also delivers with a Golmaal film. Such is his versatility. Ae Dil…on the other hand is all about love, relationships, heartbreak and the ensuing pain. The songs and teaser have made us believe this will be one film everyone will love to fall in love with. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is looking breathtaking in the songs while Ranbir’s expressions are making us root for him. And then there is Fawad Khan…. SIGH!

Things have already become pretty nasty between Karan Johar and Ajay Devgn. The call leak between Kamaal R Khan and Kumar Mangat created a lot of ruckus. He first accused KJO of giving him money to badmouth Shivaay and later did an U-Turn and put the blame on Ajay.

Raees Vs Kaabil

Release date: 26 January 2017

Raees is one film all Shah Rukh Khan fans are waiting to watch for a year now. Especially after Fan’s debacle, this film is more awaited. We are pretty sure even SRK haters are also eagerly waiting for this film, of course for different reason altogether (Read: to troll). After bowing out of a clash with Sultan this Eid, Raees will now release on January 26 and that’s when it battle it out with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil. The latter is still getting shot while the former is almost ready. We saw SRK meeting Rakesh Roshan a few days back perhaps to talk about averting the clash but it wasn’t fruitful it seems because the film has not budged from its spot. This could have soured Shah Rukh and Hrithik’s friendship as well since they no longer hangout together.

Jolly LLB 2 vs Raabta

Release date: 19 February 2017

It may not be a massive clash of Raees-Kaabil proportions but it definitely is a big deal given the fact that both the film has good buzz around it. Jolly LLB 2 is an Akshay Kumar film who has changed the game of Bollywood by simply being disciplined in his work. Even a humongous film like Mohenjo Daro film couldn’t put a dent in the collection of Rustom. Also, the original film made money at the box office and was one of the best films that year. Hence, there is excitement for the film.

Raabta on the other hand turned heads when Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon’s off screen chemistry became the talk of the town. Sushant had just broken up with his longtime girlfriend Ankita Lokhande and immediately, there were talks about him cozying up to Kriti. That has give enough limelight to the film.
