Mumbai, July 9: Sultan Salman Khan has proved that he is Bollywood’s numero uno when it comes to ruling the box office. The movie continued its fantastic run for the third consecutive day, despite it being a working day. The Salman Khan, Anushka Sharma starrer earned Rs 73.7 crore in two days and with theatres reporting 80% occupancy on Friday, the movie has now entered the coveted Rs. 100 crore club. It has earned Rs. 105.34 crores in just three days of its release.

This is Salman Khan’s tenth movie to cross Rs. 100 crore mark and with Sultan the superstar now holds the record of maximum films in the Rs. 100 crore club followed by Shah Rukh Khan who has six films to his name.

Sultan has also broken Salman Khan’s all previous films box office records like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which  collected Rs. 102.60 cr and Rs. 101.47 cr in three days and has now become the superstar’s biggest opener at the box office till date.

The film made Rs 36.54 on opening day and followed it up with Rs 37.2 crore on Eid holiday on July 7. On Friday, July 8, was a working day, the film witnessed a dip in its box office numbers and but still managed to collect Rs. 31.50 crores at the ticket window.

With the next two days being the weekend, the film is likely to improve its box office collections. Trade analysts predict that this weekend, the movie will make anything beyond Rs 150 crore. Salman’s Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year and Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 are the other big films which made Rs 100 crore in three days.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh said on Friday that both single screens and multiplexes are giving great response to the wrestling drama.
