BHUBANESWAR: With normalcy returning in Western Odisha after a gap of months of unrest demanding for a permanent High Court in anywhere in the region, State Election Commission on Monday announced that elections to the 22 urban local bodies will be held on November 22.

Total 6,07,715 voters will exercise their franchise at 669 booths of 342 wards in  22 ULBs going for polls including 10 municipalities and 12 notified area councils (NACs).

Nomination papers will be issued on October 28 and last date for filling of papers slated for November 1. Scrutiny will be held on November 4. Withdrwal of papers slated for November 7 and counting will be held on November 23.

Election of Chairperson of ULBS will be held on December 4 and all process end with election vice-chairpersons on December 30.

Polls will be conducted in districts like Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Bargarh, Bolangir, Subarnapur, Debgarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Nupada.
