CNG kits for two wheelers will translate to a cheaper running cost and lowered emission.
With rising costs of petrol, people are busy looking for alternate sources of fuel for powering urban commutes. To make this a reality, Mahanagar Gas Ltd, in association with Eco Fuel, have launched a CNG conversion kit automatic scooters in India.
This kit has been developed in collaboration with Lovato and has an approval from iCAT, Gurgaon. Another brand, ITUK, has a clearance from ARAI, Pune. Lovato has got approval for 18 Scooter models of various manufacturers present in the market. The list of scooters include:

The kit includes two CNG cylinders of 1.2 kg with a range of 110 km per fill. Running costs are claimed to translate to approximately INR 0.60 per kilometer. That’s significantly less than the price for petrol driven scooters.
Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change has been conducting trial runs of a CNG-powered Honda Activa in Delhi since last year. This project has proven to be successful by GAIL’s collaboration and the scooters are being used by a few food delivery services as a test project.
