Now that November is coming to a close with Thanksgiving weekend upon us, and the holiday season is officially here, Indy With Kids has an array of fabulous weekend events on our calendar each and every week for Indiana families!  Please check out our list below of this weekend’s highlights featuring tons of holiday-themed activities for your family to enjoy together!  Happy Holidays from Indy With Kids!

Friday, November 27th

The Historic Artcraft Theatre in Franklin: Elf – November 27th and 28th at 2 and 7:30

Noblesville on the Square Holiday Ice Sculptures & Tree Lighting Ceremony
November 27th from 6:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. Noblesville Main Street’s third annual display of Holiday Ice Sculptures. Several companies and organizations play a vital role as sponsors of pre-carved ice sculptures that illuminate downtown Noblesville beginning November 27 at 6:00 pm. Ice carving demonstrations will be performed by the Indiana Ice Studio and the annual tree lighting ceremony will be at approximately 8:00 pm. The ice sculptures stay on display for as long as weather allows.

Brown County Visitors Center Holiday Open House
November 27th 12:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. Join the Visitors Center on the patio for delicious cookies and cocoa! Bring the family and your Christmas list to visit with Santa and his elves and maybe even Mrs. Claus in the official kick-off of the holidays in Brown County. As you wander throughout the Village you’ll see strolling carolers.

Christmas on the Square
November 27th 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Historic Hendricks County Courthouse Square. Grab a candid photo with Santa and other holiday characters as they roam around this annual holiday event that features live music, kids activities, the ceremonial lighting of the tree and courthouse square and more.

Holiday at the Farm
November 27-29; December 4-6, 11-13, 18-23 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Shireman Homestead in Columbus, IN. Take a lighted wagon ride to the holiday village, visit Santa, the holiday treat house and the holiday workshop. Have your letters ready for Santa’s mailbox so you can get a letter back!

Santa’s Big Arrival at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum
Friday, November 27th 8:30 A.M. Entry is included with Museum Admission
Schedule:
8:30 a.m. Special activities begin in Welcome Center & Sunburst Atrium.
9:15 a.m. Santa arrives in a 2-seater IndyCar driven by Verizon IndyCar Series owner/driver Ed Carpenter!
9:35 a.m. Join us for a sing-along
10 a.m. Santa rides the Yule Slide and museum opens



Saturday, November 28th

Indianapolis Museum of Art’s Big Tent Event
The IMA is pleased to debut Big Tent, an immersive, multimedia performance space that surrounds viewers with sound and visuals. Big Tent will be at the IMA during Silent Night on Saturday, November 28 / 5-8 pm includes FREE admission to the Museum and Gardens all day. Big Tent will feature Hourglass at 6pm, which is a community dance participation event that occurs within the Big Tent space. The performance will include Robin Cox (violin/composer), Shawn Goodman (bass clarinet), Stephanie Nugent (dance facilitator), and Ben Smith (visuals).

Merging the Gap November Family Service Project
November 28th 10:00 A.M. Looking for a holiday service project for your family to enjoy together? Put a smile in the heart of an elderly resident this season by joining Merging the Gap at Meadow Brook Senior Living for you and your children to read books with a resident, who may not receive regular visitors. This is more of a low key event, but something the residents will truly enjoy. Have your children pick out a few of their favorite books to come and read with the residents! Books with pictures are best for our dementia residents! Bring as many books as you would like! Children of all ages are welcome and must be accompanied by a parent.  Please RSVP.

Santa’s Arrival at Indianapolis International Airport
November 28th 11:00 A.M – 2:00 P.M. As part of Santa’s travels around the world, he’s making a special stop at the Indianapolis International Airport. Activities include a photo with Santa, face painting, balloon artistry, glitter tattoos, magician, holiday decorations, music and more.

Broad Ripple Lights Up!
November 28th 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Broad Ripple Village and Firehouse. The BROAD RIPPLE Lights Up! festival features a Kids Wonderland activity village, live entertainment, Indianapolis’ only twilight parade, pictures with Santa, and a holiday light display lighting ceremony at the firehouse.

Martinsville Wonderland of Lights at Jimmy Nash Park
November 28th 5:00 P.M. The Martinsville Community Band will kick off the evening as visitors await Santa’s arrival at 6:00. Guests can join Santa in front of the live nativity for Christmas readings and caroling. Then the Nash Family Pavilion will open for cocoa, cookies and crafts, and visits with the big man himself.

Breakfast with Santa & Holiday Open House
November 28th 9:00 A.M. Indiana FFA Leadership Center in Trafalgar. Enjoy breakfast with Santa, live music, vendor booths, and more. Santa will be in his sleigh for pictures and vendors will be on site for shopping. Additionally, there will be a pancake bar, kids crafts, and a free raffle ticket for every adult meal purchased. Sunday, November 29th

FREE Christmas Trees for Families in Need at Champion Chevrolet of Avon
Sunday, November 29th Noon to 3:00 P.M. Champion Chevrolet will be giving away 250 six foot Christmas trees to needy families in the area. Trees are available on a first come first serve basis. 2015 Noblesville Holiday Parade

Nutcracker Ballet Performance at Fishers Library
November 29th – 2:00-3:00 p.m. Get into the holiday spirit with a very special storytime with the Ballet Theatre of Carmel as costumed ballerinas perform sections of The Nutcracker.
