Tour Itinerary of Chandigarh Shimla Kinnaur Sangla Valley Chitkul Spiti Kaza Manali Dharamshala Dalhousie Delhi 13 Night 14 Days Tour by Cab

Day 01: Transfer Delhi to Shimla

On Arrive Delhi Airport & Transfer by Car to Shimla (120 Kms 4 hours) former summer capital of British India & now a capital of Himachal Pradesh, set amidst the snow capped shivalik mountain ranges offering some stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. Shimla also called the “Queen of Hill Stations”. It is one of the most popular and biggest hill stations surrounded by pine, deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Arrive & check in the Hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Night stay in Shimla.

Day 02: Shimla local sightseeing

After breakfast at your hotel your driver will take you for a full day of sightseeing tour of Shimla town. We will visit the famous Viceregal Lodge, also known as the Indian Institute of Advance studies- where arrangements for the partition of India and Pakistan were worked out the Jakhoo temple (monkey temple) on the top of Jakhoo hills, and we will also take you to visit Kufri or Naldera where one can go for pony rides in the countryside’s. Later on after the lunch drive back to Shimla and walk around the Mall road of Shimla to visit the Christ Church, the Gaiety Theatre, Mall Road with its scandal point. Second night in the same hotel in Shimla.

Day 03: Shimla - Sarahan 2,150 metres / 7,055 feet, (170 Kms 9-10 hrs)

After breakfast at hotel we will set off at around 9:00A.M. Today it is a drive of 9-10 hrs, driving through the beautiful villages of Fagu, Theog, Matiana, Narkanda and Rampur. Enrooted we will have many comfort breaks and will visit the Apple orchards and Hattu peak (3,400 metres/ 11,154 feet) at Narkanda, from where you can have a spectacular view of the mighty Central Himalayas and will also visit the traditional wodden carved temple of Godess Kali on the top. We will also stop by a small lake on the way to Hattu Peak. Later on we continue our drive to Sarahan via Rampur and enroute we will stop for lunch break and various picture breaks and comfort breaks. Sarahan - the tiny village offers the splendid views of Shrikhanda Mahadev Peak (5,155 metres). The major attraction in Sarahan is centuries-old Hindu temple of Godess Bhimakali. Steeped in legend, the temple complex is a resplendent example of hill architecture. Sarahan is also the gateway to Kinnaur valley. Overnight stay in Hotel in Sarahan.

Day 04: Sarahan - Sangla 2,680 metres / 8,792 feet, (90 Kms / 4-5 hrs)

After breakfast at your hotel, we will visit the famous temple of Bhimakali at Sarahan. This is the same temple in which human sacrifices were made about two centuries ago. After visiting the temple we will continue driving to Sangla (4-5 hrs) where you will check in at your hotel or could also choose to stay in fixed luxury tented accommodation. After lunch you will be taken on a walk through Kamru and Sangla villages ( 1-2 hrs) and we will visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monasteries. You will have plenty of opportunity to speak to the local people in these valleys. The Sangla valley is also known as the Baspa Sangla valley, after river Baspa which flows through the valley and it is the part of Kinnaur valley. Overnight in hotel in Sangla.

Day 05: ~ Local Sightseeing of Chitkul Sangla Valley

After breakfast we will Sangla, Kamru village and make a small walk to visit Kamru Fort which has a temple dedicated to Kamaksha Devi. Sangla a populous village, situated on the right bank of the Baspa River, is famous for its high fertile soil, at an elevation of 2621 m above the sea level and falls at a distance of 17 km from Karcham. It is built on a slope with the house rising one above the other the scene being closed by the gigantic Raldang Peaks towering behind. Chitkul is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border. The Indian road ends here. The Baspa valley is the prettiest valley in the Himalayas. Its terrain and green vegetation on the slopes are not very steep. A populous village situated on the right bank of the Baspa is built on a slope with the houses rising one above the other with gigantic Kinner Kailash peak domination the scene. Overnight stay at Sangla.

Day 06: Sangla to Kalpa Local Sightseeing 2,759 metres / 9,048 feet (40 kms/ 2-3 hrs)

After breakfast at the hotel you will be driven to Kalpa village (2-3 hrs.) Enroute we will stop at Recongpeo and will have a walk around the local market. Recongpeo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. We will have lunch in a local restaurant where you have a choice to enjoy Indian or Tibetian food. After lunch we visit the Kalpa village and the nearby Roghi village. These villages are covered with thick pine forests and are famous for apricots and apples. The finest view of the Mt. Kinner Kailash Mountain (6000 metres) can be had from here. This is a spectacular sight early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold light. Kalpa is situated at an altitude of 2759 m from the sea level, on the old Hindustan Tibet Road at a distance of 260 km from Shimla. Earlier it was the District Headquarter of Kinnaur. It is 14 KMS. It has all the characteristics of a heritage village. Kalpa came into prominence in the wake of British Governor General Lord Dalhousie's visit in the 19th century. Overnight in hotel in Kalpa Valley.

Day 07: ~ Kalpa to Tabo 3,050 metres / 10010 feet (190 Kms / 9-10 hrs)

After breakfast we will drive you to Tabo ( 9 -10 hrs.). Enroute we will drive you through Puh and Nako. We will visit Nako Lake and village and will have lunch in Nako. Later we continue our drive to Tabo en route visit the Gue village which is also the last Indian village on Indo-Tibetan boarder. Here we will be visiting the naturally preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk which is about 600 years old, which was discovered here while building the road. Later on reach Tabo and check in to your hotel. Today we will be entering the beautiful Spiti valley which is also known as the cold desert of the Himalayas (this area is cut from rest of the world due to heavy snow in the winters).

Day 08: ~ Tabo to Kaza 3,200 metres / 10,500 feet, (150 kms / 9 hrs).

After breakfast we will visit the Tabo monastery which is the oldest monastery in the Himalayas. Later we will drive you to Kaza (3 hrs.) En route we will visit the Dhankar village and Dhankar monastery and fort. Here we will have a cup of tea or lunch with a local family. Later on we continue our drive to Kaza where you will check in at your hotel. The evening is free to explore in the Kaza market.

Day 09: ~ Sightseeing around Kaza (5-6 hrs).

Today after breakfast we will be driven to the village of Lagnza. Here there is an opportunity to walk around the village. You may wish to visit the monastery at the top of the village and on the way look out for fossils. Here you can also see the yak working in the fields or yak grazing in the pastures. If weather permits there is an option drive on to Hikkim, and the Comic village, which is now the world’s highest village (4,450 metres) joined to a motorable road. Later we will continue our drive to Kee Monastery and the village of Kibber. Once Kibber (at 4,200 metres) was considered the world’s highest village. There is also the option to walk to the nearby mountains where there are big herds of Himalayan blue sheep and snow ibex gather in the evening. Lunch will be at Kibber village, in a local restaurant, where you will be offered a choice of delicious Tibetan dishes. In the evening we will return to Kaza for a second night at the hotel.

Day 10: ~ Kaza To Manali 2,050 metres / 6,726 feet.

Today we will make an early start ( 06: 30 A.M) as it is the longest day’s journey driving to Manali (9-10 hrs). On the way we will stop for breakfast at Losar, and then for lunch at Batal. Today we will cross two high mountain passes one of which is the highest point on the whole journey (Kunzum Pass, 4,558 metres / 14,950 feet) and also visit the temple on the pass where travellers say prayers before heading down the pass. The Kunzum Pass provides beautiful views of CB ranges and Glaciers. We will visit Chanderatal Lake also, * if the road is open to the Lake and sees the lake, this lake is also known as the lake of the moon. Later on we will continue our journey over the Rohtang pass (3,980 metres / 13058 feet) and enter Kullu valley. We will reach Manali in the evening and check in at the hotel.

Day 11: ~ Manali Localsightseeing

Today morning after breakfast visit 450 years old Hadimba Devi Temple built in the tranquil and serene woods, the oldest temple in Manali, Tibetan center & monastery, Club House, Van vihar, Mall Road Manali, and Vashisht village, known for its hot sulphur springs,. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 12: ~ Manali – Naggar – Kullu (45 kms).

Today after breakfast we will check out from the hotel and will visit Naggar village. Naggar used to be the Capital of Kullu in The Olden times. Here we will visit the Naggar Castle and Roreich art gallery. The Naggar castle provides the views of the Himalayas with the apple orchards and village down in the valley. After lunch break and later we will visit Vaishno Devi temple in Kullu and the famous shawl weaving local factories in Kullu.. Evening is free to explore the local market of Manali. In the evening back to Manali for overnight stay

Day 13 : Manali To Delhi (540 kms 12 Hours).

Checkout from Hotel and drive towards Delhi. Dropping at Delhi railway station / airport for onward journey.flight back to West Bengal.End of memorable tour and services.
