Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, the upcoming Xiaomi budget phone is all set to come to India on January 19th. While Xiaomi had already announced the launch of a smartphone in the past, through their invites and on social media, Flipkart has now finally come out in the open and announced that the upcoming device, which is to be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be a Flipkart exclusive smartphone. Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 4 in China last year and since then, the smartphone has been expected to launch in India. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is being heavily teased across all social media sites and on Twitter. Although Xiaomi has not named the smartphone in their teasers so far, it is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 that is expected. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be the first major Xiaomi launch in India since the beginning of 2017.

Coming to the features and specifications of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, the smartphone will come with specifications similar to the Chinese variant. While there are certain tweaks that the smartphone will come with, there are no major changes that are expected in the Indian variant of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. The smartphone will come in multiple versions in China but as of yet, it is unsure if Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will come in the same internal memory versions and colours or will there be just one variant launched in the country. The smartphone is expected to be a budget device as previous Xiaomi Redmi Note series in India. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will take on some of the established smartphones brands in India. Right ahead of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 launch, Lenovo slashed priced of Lenovo Z2 Plus by Rs 3000.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in China is a Android Marshmallow smartphone and comes with MIUI version on top. In India too, the smartphone is expected to be an Android Marshmallow device. As the smartphone is a budget device, it is likely that there won’t be an Android Nougat upgrade coming to Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Under the hood of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 runs a Mediatek process or in China but considering Xiaomi is locked in a battle over the use of Mediatek processors in their smartphones in India, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is likely to sport a Snapdragon 625 processor. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will come in a metal unibody design, the same as the chinese variant. Coming to the display, the smartphone will sport a 5.5 inch full HD display with a 2.5D curved glass protection on top. Lenovo Z2 Plsu gets cheaper, now available for Rs 14,999 on Flipkart and also in retail stores

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in China comes in 3 internal memory variants – 16 GB, 32 GB  and 64 GB. The RAM of the device also varies according to the internal memory with the lowest being 2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB respectively. It is unclear if Xiaomi will launch all the three variants in India or will stick to just a couple of versions in the country. However, the basic version will also be the cheapest and is most likely to be priced closer to Rs 10,000 in the country. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a 13 MP rear end camera and a 5 MP front end camera. The battery is a 4100 mAh powerhouse. In terms of design and looks, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is pretty similar to Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 expect for the fingerprint scanner on the back. There is no word on the pricing of the smartphone though it will be in the budget segment, with no variant crossing Rs 15,000. In China, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is priced at CNY 899 for the most basic version and CNY 1,199 for the most advanced version. The Indian pricing will be in a similar range. Xiaomi has grown by leaps and bounds and over the past year has managed to bring in a lot of profits. Xiaomi entered the 1 billion club with their smartphones and their sales have only grown over time. The brand has established itself in the country and is a much loved brand among the youth in the nation. Despite the fierce competition, Xiaomi has held their ground and managed to be a top brand in India. Will Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 be able to recreate the Xiami magic?
