Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Kaabil’ has been one of the most awaited films of 2017. It’s impending box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’ just made the wait all the more exciting! However, as the celeb reviews came in, it came into light that both the films were serious competition to each other. Hrithik Roshan fans who were disappointed because of his films like Krrish 3 and Mohenjo Daro, had high expectations from this one. And mind you! Hrithik Roshan doesn’t disappoint! Here is India.com’s review of the Hrithik Roshan – Yami Gautam starrer Kaabil, directed by Sanjay Gupta and produced by Rakesh Roshan!

The film revolves around a blind couple in love who get happily married. As the couple is happy in their new lovely life, they face an extremely hurtful situation. After the trouble in the newly-wed couple’s paradise, the revenge drama starts only to halt at a deserving end.

What’s hot

The film is something that Hrithik Roshan fans were aching for since long. The performances by Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam are just amazingly superb. It isn’t hard to notice that the makers made sure that the protagonists Rohan Bhatnagar (Hrithik) and Supriya aka Su (Yami) nowhere overdo their role of blind characters to avoid gaining sympathy. While Hrithik has played ‘special’ characters in the past in films like ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ and ‘Guzaarish’ he still manages to steal the show here again. It is difficult to not draw parallels between similar roles but Hrithik leaves no scope for any! The way this actor outdoes himself will amaze you! Yami, who is probably known for her chirpy and bubbly roles, comes as a fresh surprise! She plays a blind girl, who is strong and independent. The chemistry between them is also worth watching.

Apart from Hrithik and Yami, other characters like Zafar (Suresh Menon) who is Rohan’s friend will surprise you with his not-so-common serious role. The real Roy brothers, Rohit and Ronit will leave you stunned with their darkest than the dark on-screen villian avatar. They make you loathe them! Girish Kulkarni who was last seen in Aamir Khan’s Dangal as a coach, plays a corrupt cop and makes sure you hate his character.

The makers have kept in mind the challenges faced by blind people and have intelligently shot the dance and action sequences so as to keep them real! The dialogues are catchy, relatable and add drama to the revenge saga.

What’s Not

Some scenes are a bit over dramatic but it doesn’t make the plot any weaker. Some scenes from the first half seem irrelevant but they all come together and make sense during the climax.

The background music adds its pinch to the scenes, however they could have been more effective. The power packed dialogues make us forget about the rest of the additions. The songs are a visual treat but we expected more from the ace music director Rajesh Roshan who has given some beautiful super hits in the past. The second half is pacy and will just overwhelm you with giving you very little time to think.

Last word:

Whatever negatives the film has aren’t big enough and the positives are huge enough for you to go and watch the film! The makers have made a good attempt. All in all, we can say that the lost Hrithik Roshan, the fans were searching, for a long long time, is found with ‘ Kaabil’. Ditching Kaabil won’t be a good idea!
