National Eligibility Entrance Test  (NEET)  for post graduate (PG) courses is scheduled to be conducted on December 5 to December 13, 2016 while for the dental courses,  the exam will be held on November 30 in 86 centres across 41 cities. NEET-PG will be a computer-based test and will comprise of 300 multiple choice questions. The  NEET MDS courses (Dental) will also be a computer based test which will comprise of 240 multiple choice questions.

The online registration will begin from September 26 till October 31. While registering for the NEET PG 2017 exam,  candidates are advised to read the information bulletin carefully before starting online registration and ensure that no mandatory column is left blank.  As per the official website in the event of rejection of the application form, no correspondence/request for re-consideration will be entertained. The students can check the official website – nbe.edu.in from September 24 for the details regarding the NEET PG exam. NEET-PG is a single window entrance examination for entry to MD/MS/Post Diploma courses.

No other examination either at state level or institutional level entrance examination conducted by medical colleges /institutions shall be valid as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 with effect from 2017 admission session The website for NEET-PG is available  for aspirants from September 24, 2016 while the online registration for the NEET PG  exam will commence from 0700 hrs on September 26, 2016 till October 31, 2016 (23:59hrs). To appear for the exam, candidates need to be in possession of MBBS degree/ Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from a Medical college or institute which is fully recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act, possessing either a permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS or equivalent qualification issued by the Medical Council of India/ State Medical Council. The applicants should have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete the same on or before March 31, 2017 may apply for NEET-PG through online application system at nbe.edu.in. While applying for NEET PG 2017, aspirants will be required to carefully choose the exam centre and the exam date through online registration system on first come first serve basis. The admit card will be sent to the candidates on their registered e-mail id after successful completion of online registration and payment of fees. The examination fees for the General/OBC candidates is Rs 3750 while for SC/ST/PWD(PH) candidates, the fees is Rs 2750. The fee for the examination has to be remitted through payment gateway at the time of online registartion, using a credit card or debit card. Candidates can also pay the fees by online banking. The registration of admissions for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses is governed by Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations which is issued by Medical Council of India with prior approval of Central Government and the Judgments of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Candidates who are completing or likely to complete their internship after  March 31, 2017 need not apply in the NEET-PG 2017 as they shall be ineligible to participate at any stage of the admission process. It is important to note that AIIMS, PGIMER, Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) and SRICHITRA Institute  will not accept the scores of NEET PG 2017.
