I have a quick question about the power output versus the compression ratio. Here are the specifications for the 383:
Stroke: 3.75"
Bore Dimater: 4.030"
Piston CC: -16 CC
Piston below deck 0.010"
Head gasket compressed thickness: 0.029"
Heads: 62 CC Iron
My static compression ratio is 10.1:1
Here is some dynamic CR information:
Static compression ratio of 10.1:1.
Effective stroke is 3.43 inches.
Your dynamic compression ratio is 9.28:1 .
Your dynamic cranking pressure is 192.45 PSI.
Am I leaving power on the table by running a static CR this low? I think I am, but how much? Any help would be greatly appricated.
