The 19th Annual John Starks Celebrity Golf Classic was held at the Fairview Country Club in Greenwich, Connecticut on Monday September 15, 2014. Over two dozen celebrities came out to support and participate in the event. The John Starks Foundation  which was founded in 1994 by New York Knicks legend, John Starks, is a nonprofit organization that provides financial aid assistance to high school seniors in the form of academic scholarships which is known as the 3 Point Scholarship Program. The foundation also provides support to community programs focused on furthering educational, recreational and career development of children and their families. The day started with former Knick Charles Oakley making breakfast for those in attendance before they headed outside for a day of golf. Well known athletes and celebrities spent the day golfing, some of those in attendance included, Herb Williams, J.R. Smith, Richard Roundtree, Rodney Hampton, Allan Houston, Les "Pee Wee" Harrison, Samantha Cole and Derek Fisher.

Once the outdoor golfing event concluded, everyone gathered on the outdoor patio by the pool for the awards dinner ceremony and auction. Entertainment was provided by Jam-X Band as people enjoyed the catered dinner. Once everyone was seated, a live auction event was hosted by Talent Harris who jokingly thanked Charles Oakley for keeping him out of jail by paying his back pay on child support. The items available during the live auction included a New York Knicks Ball Boy/Girl Package, the Lexus Champions for charity Series at Pebble Beach in December and Oak in the Kitchen, where Charles Oakley will host and prepare dinner in your home for up to 10 guests. Once Talent announced the Oak in the Kitchen item, John Starks also stated he would join his friend in the kitchen and the day would start with golfing. Two participants battled for this item until they decided that they would each pay for their own separate Oak in the Kitchen Experience. One of the highlights of the evening were when two of the scholarship recipients gave speeches and showed their appreciation to the foundation for providing them with the opportunity to attend college. John Starks concluded the evening by thanking all who were in attendance and the sponsors who made the event possible. ImLit Magazine would like to give a special thank you to Jennifer Alpert, the Executive Director of the John Starks Foundation who was also a big part of making the event a success.
