The South African Government says it “is ready to welcome delegates and showcase the country’s competitive advantage in the areas of mining and related fields at the annual Investing in African Mining Indaba in Cape Town.”

The Indaba, to be held February 6 to 9 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), is the world’s largest gathering of mining’s most influential stakeholders and decision-makers vested in African mining.

Government activities will commence with Mineral Resources Minister Zwane officially opening the Indaba on Monday, 6 February 2017 at 09h20. After the opening ceremony he will engage exhibitors at the South African Pavilion from 10h00.

Minister Zwane will thereafter, together with the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies, supported by Brand South Africa, host an Investment Dialogue at 14h00 on that same day, under the theme: “Promoting investment to grow junior mining”. The focus of the dialogue will be to encourage long term investment in the sector, particularly towards the development of junior mining projects and the creation of jobs.
