What gives you inspiration?

Right now my inspiration is: driving too fast in the mountains with my dog Molly, listening, Instagram, the new Drake album, the moon, pretty girls, drinking beer with my friends, Harry Potter, Spotify helps me a lot, looking, fun, Youtube videos about photography, seeing art, I am getting into jogging and figure out a lot of stuff on my jogs, Yahoo news, aliens, hiking and other general outdoor activities, being at work, photography, freestyle photo, the hardware store, good deals on ebay, maybe it would be easier to just say things I like.

What are your influences?

Music, Rocks, Looking, Friends, Gerhard Richter, reading, weird photography stuff, coffee, and “cleaning” my studio.

Why did you choose these photos?

I chose these photographs because they live really well together formally, while also exploring the deterioration of representation. Each image “pictures” a subject, but as the sequence progresses the subject becomes more indecipherable. Only being able to show four photographs, I wanted to use this platform to think about a specific idea through a combination of my images.

What does photography mean to you?

Photography is maybe just a record of light; Wikipedia says it has to be a durable image, but I am not really sure what constitutes durable.  Photography is maybe just the proof that light is a physical entity. I like to think these days that a photograph is a picture of a Subaru as well as the sunburn streaks left on your arms when you miss with the sunscreen, but maybe photography isn’t just light. Is photography what makes up a photograph? Is it just a medium that an artist can work in, or a word? I think photography is what I am trying to figure out.
